We have a pick next year, but the year after we don't. And the best thing to do is to buy out Marbury because you can't trade him and pay hissalary, a la baseball.

Steph is done in NY. Book it. I don't think Duhon is a starter, but having a solid defender in the backcourt isn't bad. And we have more than enoughoptions for him to defer to on the offensive end.

Anyone defending Steph has lost their marbles.

I don't see Steph in NY for too long now.

Need some Moet to celebrate!!!!!

Howard Beck of the New York Times reports that it is "a near certainty" that Stephon Marbury will not return to the Knicks next season, according to people with close ties to both Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni.

The sources cited by Beck spoke anonymously because the information was disclosed privately and because Marbury's imminent departure has apparently not yet been discussed with Marbury himself.

It is unclear whether Marbury will be traded, bought out or waived.

Free-agent Chris Duhon agreed to terms with the Knicks on Friday and is likely to take over the starting point guard job in New York.

i think the smartest way to move him is to trade, because the buyout would cost us 21 mill, meanwhile if we dangle that same amount coming off the books infront a team in the 2010 sweepstakes, we may have a taker for this guy

obviously we don't know how cancerous steph is to this team from an internal standpoint, but it must be to a severe extent if their running him out of thedoor like this

oh well, let duhon start, he can't do any worse than our pg's last year

Do you not understand that in order to get under the cap and rebuild we have to let Marbury's contract expire? What you are requesting is somethingIsiah did for 5 years and look where its got us now.

thats wat exactly is going to happen. He's going to end up playing for a contender and we will all be saying where was this marbury when he was on ourteam

some of you are really missing the point!!! trading marbury would be the 2nd worst move in knicks history next to trading ewing!!!
lethim play, waive him, buyout either of those 3 should be the only options....trading steph to get cap relief???? dude makes 21 mil that are coming off thebooks at the end of the season!!!

Marbury will be ill on a contending team, especially if he is NOT the # 1 option.

Dude is FAAARRRRR from finished.

Marbury is still the best option we have at 1 guard whether you guys like to admit it or not. Dude is not finished. We need to let dude just come off the capafter this year. If we buy him out, y'all can trust a team like the Cavs will pick him up. Lebron and Marbury would be a wrap.

I with Allen and woodside and a few others on this. I was a huge Marbury fan as there s but its time to move on and the buyout makes perfect sense.
