Minnesota Vikings' Troy Williamson headed to Jaguars BY SEAN JENSEN

The Vikings have agreed in principle to trade receiver Troy Williamson to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a second-day draft pick, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. The trade cannot become official until the official start of the league year, Thursday at 11 p.m. CST. Last week at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, the Vikings gave Williamson's agent, David Canter, permission to seek a trade, and Canter insisted there was plenty of interest in Williamson, the seventh overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft. Despite a disappointing 79 catches for 1,067 yards and three touchdowns in three seasons, Williamson intrigues teams because of his speed.
The Vikings had high hopes for Williamson heading into the 2007 season, after he spent time in the offseason working with vision specialists at Nike headquarters. But Williamson again struggled with drops and had a career-low 18 catches for 240 yards.

******** cut Lloyd after disappointing stay with team

Associated Press

Updated: February 26, 2008, 5:35 PM ET

ASHBURN, Va. -- Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd was released by the Washington ********, ending his disappointing stay with the team.

He caught only 25 passes with no touchdowns in two seasons with the ********. His totals were two catches for 14 yards last season, when he broke his collarbone in November.

Lloyd already had fallen out of favor with the team because of his work ethic and lack of productivity.

The ******** traded two draft picks to the San Francisco 49ers to acquire Lloyd before the 2006 season. They then signed him to a long-term contract that included $10 million in guaranteed money.

Cowboys | Team considering trade with Miami

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Dallas Cowboys are considering trading an undisclosed draft pick and RB Marion Barber III for the Miami Dolphins' No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.
How reliable is Adam Schefter...

One draft pick and Barber? I have a hard time believing that gets it done on Miami's end...

Jets cut WR Justin McCareins, CB Andre Dyson; waive G Adrien Clarke

Wide receiver Justin McCareins and cornerback Andre Dyson were released, and starting left guard Adrien Clarke was waived by the New York Jets on Tuesday. Theveterans were cut three days before the start of the NFL's free agent period as the Jets attempt to create additional salary cap room

Lance Briggs is from Sacramento, and went to Elk Grove HS...but yeah, I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one. Justin Smith and Briggswould be great additions, allowing them to focus on OL and WR in the draft.

No way in hell that is alegit trade. N O F R E A K I N G W A Y .

Apparently the Eagles are considering trading Lito Sheppard to the Patriots and are pursuing Asante Samuel.....
http://www.boston.com/sports/footba...r_wilson_its_time_to_cover_a_different_route/

A Lito shuffle?
The Eagles, who were last in the NFL in turnovers created in 2007, are expected to pursue Samuel in free agency. If they land him, it couldopen the door for trade talks between the Patriots and Eagles on cornerback Lito Sheppard . . .

In addition they are considered the front runner in trying to get Saftey Gibril Wilson from the Giants.....

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...giants_will_need_to_spend_to_keep_safety.html

The Giants are continuing to try to sign S Gibril Wilson before he becomes a free agent on Friday, but it's looking less and less likeit's actually going to happen. And it's not because the Giants aren't willing to spend to keep him.

It's because the 26-year-old Wilson knows he's going to get a lot of interest on the open market and understandably wants to see what he'sworth. And, for a guy who made a career-high $1.3 million last season, it could be a lot.

The latest team to reportedly be in the Wilson hunt is the Philadelphia Eagles, who might be looking to replace35-year-old Brian Dawkins, who missed six games last year and has only onemore year on his contract. Wilson would be a natural fit there, since Steve Spagnuolo's Giants defense was so similar to the one Jim Johnson runs in Philly.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were recently reported to be interested inWilson, too. And I can tell you from my four days at the combine, that you can count on at least three other teams - possibly more - being in the Wilsonhunt.

A strong case could be made that Wilson is the top safety in an underwhelming unrestricted-free-agent crop.

How much is that worth? Wilson is rumored to be seeking something similar to what Deon Grant got from Seattle lastyear - a six-year, $30 million contract with $11 million in guarantees. That's almost identical to what Michael Lewis got from the 49ers last year.

The year before Baltimore gave Ed Reed a seven-year, $44.4 million deal. At about the same time, Dallas extended RoyWilliams' contract for five years, $25.2 million with $11 million guaranteed.

And finally the Eagles might cut ties with Jevon Kearse.......

http://www.philly.com/philly/sports...es___Coming_soon__Eagles_will_cut_Kearse.html
Eagles Notes: Coming soon: Eagles will cut Kearse

Eagles Notes
INDIANAPOLIS - Reports that surfaced Friday of Jevon Kearse's release were both premature and late.
It has been known for some time that the Eagles plan to release the veteran defensive end, who lost his starting position to Juqua Thomas last season, but the move has not officially been made. Kearse's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed yesterday that it was just a matter of time.

"Jevon will be released, and I expect Jevon to be a free agent," Rosenhaus said at the NFL Scouting Combine. "We tried to work out a restructure with the Eagles. We thought he had a wonderful career there and we weren't able to do it."

An Eagles source said that Rosenhaus initiated the talks to restructure Kearse's deal, but the sides never came close to an agreement.

Rosenhaus believes there will be a decent market for Kearse, even though his client has registered just seven sacks the last two seasons. Kearse, who will be 32 at the start of next season, struggled to return from multiple ligament damage to his left knee that he suffered in Week 2 of the 2006 season.

"Jevon is still a very talented pass rusher, and those guys are hard to find," Rosenhaus said. "It's not a deep year at that position. We think he'll find a job pretty quickly, once he gets into free agency."

The Tennessean of Nashville has reported that the Titans, the team that drafted Kearse in 1999, could have interest in him. (He had 141/2 sacks as a rookie.) Kearse is scheduled to make $6.46 million this season.

No way in hell that is a legit trade. N O F R E A K I N G W A Y .

The early word was their 2 1st round picks and MBIII . Schefter is one of the best NFL sources in the business

We better not trade MB3. He is the heart and soul of this team. He is the last person we need to lose. Im going to be pretty upset if he gets traded

I understand MB3 had a great past 2 seasons...and he's a beast...

but at least the cowboys fans I know make it out to be, that he's better than McFadden can be and go off the I'll take proven over potential..

well that proven guy isn't gona last too long with the beatings he takes.

Idk....it is a high price to ask, but you're getting a potential 'franchise' player

If it's MB3 and one draft pick, which is the way I'm reading it at least, I think LONG AND HARD about making that move...

Adding onto what I said...

it's obvious the logical thing would be to use both picks on either a RB/WR/DB..

Jacksonville loves wide receivers that can't catch.

It looks like a lose lose situation for both teams.

First: Dallas trade their PROVEN Pro Bowl running back and BOTH of their first round picks to obtain Darren McFadden, who has yet to step on an NFL field andprove himself worthy of the #1 pick and the boat load of money associated with it.

Second: Currently, Miami is a great position to take the best looking players available in the draft whether it be one of the Long's or Dorsey or maybeeven Gholston (even though that seems like a long shot). I think it does make sense for Miami to trade down to obtain more picks because they need more thanone player to help the team, but i think the Dallas picks are way too far down in the first round.

This year is looking a LOT better for us (on paper)... but now I have to get DirecTV and NFL ticket.

I want Gholston...but....if we signed Faneca....I wouldn't be mad if Dmac fell to 6..not mad at all

so whats the story with this Moss/Walker to Dallas talk?

I think we have to worry about signing our own guys first (Flo, MB, Canty) before we flirt with the thought of getting anyone else...

Financially, this looks impossible...
I am really excited to see what goes down and how things work out...

Moss or no Moss, I will be happy if we can sign Flozell, MB3, and Canty back...anything less will be a dissapointment, because these guys were key pieces tothe puzzle

but MOSS to the Ranch will give me chills down my F***ING spine
