You right they released same day as the all star 13’s I was the only one buying the Griffey’s that day in my city everyone wanted those all stars

oh it was the opposite here in nyc. Those red griffey are/were dope. Plus nyc is a baseball loving city. I chose the all star easily.

Seeing how this release was unfolding, I decided to go to my local HOH to see what's up.
They had 20 pairs or so and had already sold 4 by the time I got there (and 4 employees were planning to cop)
Fit : 2021 TTS (10.5) has the same level of "snugness" as my 2016 TTS so I went 1/2 up this time around.
2016 vs 2021
Apart from the outline color of heel the swoosh, other differences:
Retail price: 2016 (200$ CAD) vs 2021 (225$ CAD)
2016 has some "water droplet" on the nubuck to create that "sand paper" effect where 2021 nubuck is all black
2016 insole has the "24ever" logo where 2021 insole has the "Nike Air" logo
2016 "Nike Swoosh" on the toe has an "elephant print" texture unlike 2021.

I'm still salty as a MF'er. This too wild. In '09 I got them on deep discount by accident. 2016 I got on discount but fit terrible so let them go a few years later

Now I can't even come close to one at $170 retail? This too crazy... Might be time to think about hanging em up

Just tried mine on, I knew I needed a size 11 but They didn’t have it so I settle for a 10.5, these are way snug.. i’m either going to pull out the shoe stretchers or look into getting my pinky toes cut off, but these will be worn on my feet!

Struck out online this morning and mentally prepared myself to actually line up for a shoe. Went to HOH and was 9th in line. Cop’d with the military disco! People in front had their significant others to cop 2 pairs, resellers buying larger sizes, and true Griffey fans. Line up was chill and reminded me of the 2000 era. The good ol days.

Went to my local mall to try and grab a pair for my nephew. Like a damm resellers convention. Saw a couple of older Mom’s walking out with pairs. Champs didn’t have them at the Santa Anita Mall. Only HOH had them and that line was like 30 cats deep.

Those flew quick when they dropped in 2011. They dropped around the same time the playoff/all star air Jordan 13 retro dropped and cats went straight to the cinch Griffeys

Just chiming in to say this reseller BS has truly gotten out of hand. I didn’t even try for these but I never thought I’d see the day when a Griffey was being resold for a profit. I definitely remember seeing the last retro at outlets/on sale.

Local ftl opened at 11 and got there at 11:05. About 20 or so ppl ahead of me and i was still able to cop my size. Not sure if it being a seattle staple that we got more inventory but it looked like everyone ate.

What was retail + tax? Around $180ish? Resell is around $212 for size... need it to drop about $20-30 cuz I ain’t tryna mess with the extra fees/shipping

this is what it boils down to these days.. you put in the leg work and still take Ls to bots and resellers unless luck is on your side.... and it’s a damn shame the foot sites still have a “FSR” playing with the sneaker community every release... you see SP finally got out that conversation
