Official Nike Air Max Penny 1 Updated - 2022 Retro Coming!

Speak for yourself. I’m not getting finessed. I refuse to pay losers who run bots or wait in line outside of shoe stores. I don’t enable that sort of behaviour. Lol
So wait we are losers for waiting in line now? Lol. If you want to pay resell, pay resell. If you refuse to pay resell, then never pay resell. But people calling people out for paying resell is just as goody as people calling people out for complaining about resell saying they're broke because someone refuses to pay double the retail price for a general release shoe. I'm not saying you're making fun of anyone. Just in general neither perspective makes sense to me. If I have the time, I'd rather wait in line for an hour and deal with that (so many clowns in the lines these days🤦🏿‍♂️) and pay retail than risk it and pay resell or just have to skip the release. I've waited in line for concert tickets and other places. Waiting for sneakers is no big deal.

I got no problems with people waiting in line for pairs that they want. Believe it or not, I actually miss those days, because you met a lot of cool people who actually liked the shoes. But if you’re lining up to flip the shoe for a measly $100, that’s lame as hell. Again, my beef is with the resellers. The guys running bots, the little teenyboppers who wait in line to flip, the guys who back door, etc.

I rather pay resale for Orlando instead of waiting for a year but that's just me
I was thinking the exact same thing. Id rather pay resell and have my pair now instead of waiting. I think we've all played the waiting game one release or another ad lost. Nobody in this game is undefeated. If the sneakers don't mean that much to you then waiting mars perfect sense. But if these were a must for you, I get the decision to cop now as I did. Now the only thing that might bother me is if this double up unpaid a little over retail for lol.
For some maybe.

For others, not so much.

Time is money.

The days of waiting in line for a personal are done for me. I'd much rather pay the resell ticket than waste my time with that BS.

Waiting in line to flip.....that may be different..
I completely agree. That's why I said "if I have time". If I don't have time or if that time can be best spent doing something else then I'm either passing or paying resell. Even if I'm trying to flip, the same rules apply because, as you said, "time is money."

However, there Are a ton of sneaker heads of all ages who think they are too good to wait in line. In the mean time, they aint doing nothing but sitting at home doing nothing. For most it ain't about opportunity cost, it's about pride and elitism.

If you really want a shoe you only have two paths with their own set of obstacles; play the lottery with launch shenanigans online or go wait in a line for an hour. I would say your chances are better in person. My batting average is way higher for FCFS vs online ques and raffles. Even then if you miss your size you can get another pair to flip for your size or to keep the cash. And on the rare occasion I do wait in line I'm usually taking care of business anyway as that's a perfect way to productively kill time and distract from the goof balls in like. Everybody else is on StockX or Instagram, meanwhile I'm on Zillow or Trulia.

I feel that. On one hand I agree. On the other hand if I were 16 and could make $100 legal dollars in an hour or two, count me in no hesitation. Most of these resellers are teenagers who have no real income or understanding of real life regardless of how they pose on Instagram. Realizing that helped me ease up on criticizing them. Don't get me wrong, they are still incredibly cringey and annoying. But that's most teenagers regardless of where you find them. I probably had my moments as a teen.

Now what really annoys me are the grown men who stack the line, try to cut, try to hold spots for like 5 other people, low-ball you in line if you cop, bring their wives/kids/90 year old granny etc. to the release. It's the most aggravating experience in sneaker life. I hate that more than I hate taking SNKRs L's. But to be honest, when I walk out with my pair, for retail, on release day, that I can wear immediately, and not have to worry about shady FedEx emoloyees or pesky porch pirates, all that aggravation is but a distant memory 😂

Lines is what made me retire. The AJ2 Melo drop at Niketown Denver back in the day i wana say 04. It was the first and last time I ever waited in line. Rumors started about melo being in the store signing things there were no wristbands no tickets no organization by the store. Then workers start opening the door and plucking what i assume to be their homies out of line and into the store. I ended up getting my pair after about a 2 hour wait but all the chaos made me know the game wasnt for me anymore. Also Melo was never even there so the store and the radio stations there made this hysteria and got everyone all hyped up making things worse when all I want is the shoes 🤣

I was on stockx looking up Penny's and it reminded me somebody hacked my inactive stockx account and I need to delete it. I used PayPal with SX and nothing went through but just a cautionary tale on them.

I hate lines and resell lol.

I would rather pay 20-50 over retail for a pair I really really want then stand on line though. Nothing wrong with standing on line if thats what you like. My little bro used to stand on line for me in the 2010s lol.
No one "likes" standing in line lol. At least I dont. But, if I could choose between paying retail and waiting in line for 30 minutes to an hour and paying resell, I'll take the line.

Y'all must be a bunch of millionaires in here lol who make several hundred dollars an hour. Not you lol. You hate lines which I get. I hate traffic. I'll just not go if traffic is too crazy. But if I have the time, and the difference between retail and resell is more than what I generally make in an hour, I'll be in line. Not saying I get paid hourly but I'd hope we all know how to do math and averages. I do the same thing with repairs to my properties. If it's cheaper to pay someone else than for me to go myself, I'm paying someone else.

I feel you. My only complaint with lines is that they aren't getting any safer.. I'd rather enjoy my purchase from my door step.. Just me..

I say make all releases fcfs line up and have them organized with no saving spots and stuff. Hand out tickets after an hour and then come in with your ticket later and boom done and easy.

That’s why they do raffles now. Too many mall doors broken and stampedes.
Houston peeps remember the original cool grey xi release at sharpstown lol Guy I was with would not go without tthe pistol

lets say you wait until next summer and the release is the exact same as this year then what lol...wait again or cop at resale...I hate paying resale but sometimes if you want a shoe and miss out on it you have no choice...this is why I pick and choose... sometimes if I miss out I pass completely on resale because its just too high for some shoes... my max on resale is 100 over retail if its more then I just have to pass...

Same happened to me in January. I got a notification that I had just bought a PS5 for like 1100 bucks lmao. PayPal refunded my money within 20 minutes but stock X blocked my account and me from making any others because I was “supposed to let them handle it and not file a dispute.” I ended up getting my account back a few months later I had honestly forgot about it because I don’t use stock X very much. Stock X are a bunch of clowns.

FCFS is a disaster for a hot release. Line cutting, dudes busting down doors, fights, etc…
Fcfs can be a disaster even for a mediocre release lol. This new thing has started in the past year or two in my area where kids are lining up almost daily basically stalking even the possibility of an unexpected drop or catching a return they could flip. Managers and staff are super annoyed with it. Was driving past the local Footlocker this summer and saw line. Immediately thought it was our store finally getting the Penny 1s. It was not. It was actually nothing. Just 15 or 20 kids lining up just HOPING to catch something.

Some stores do that and it works out. Before the pandemic most of the footlockers in metro Detroit, the well managed ones at least, would ask your size and give you a ticket. And before doors opened you knew if they had your size or not. Which gave you a chance to go home and focus on the online launch or go to a different store and try to hit.

Nothing will top what I read in the sports cards thread. Cats literally following the rep that delivers to Target. Straight stalking them from store to store.

That's exactly my point. I played that game with the 94 Barkley's. Found them in stores but always a size too small or too big. Figured it was the pandemic and supply chain yadda yadda, never saw them in stores again and resell never dropped as precipitously as I hoped.
