OFFICIAL: NIKE ZOOM KD V THREAD: ELITE

I tried on the KD Elites today. The cushioning feels way better than the regular KD Vs and the fit seems better too. The super heroes were on display and they look very nice in person. Will likely pick up a pair.

JR Smith is wearing these tonight
400

If you're talkin bout the KD Line in general it went somethin like this:

KD 1-80 I believe
KD 2-85
KD 3-88
KD 4-95

Thanks this is what I was talking about damn a $5 increase, $3 increase($8in total) $7 increase($15 total) to a $20 increase($35 total) damn nike and "technology"

Is $185 a reasonable price for the All Star Games? I've looked around and see most listed around $200 (although I don't think they're moving).

I've been trying to sell mine locally for $160 and I've barely gotten any interest. All I've had were a couple people lowballing for $100 or $120.

Just finished hooping in the elites for about 2 hours.  My  first impression pretty much mirrors what Sk33ter found from a page back, but here we go:

These definitely need some break-in time, but man the cushioning setup is awesome...  The forefoot zoom unit is very well placed, I seemed to get a lot more spring out of every cut, dribble move, etc. (the carbon fiber shank plate helped with this spring/quickness as well).  Everything on the shoe seemed to work well together. I'm excited to see how these feel after a couple more wears.

As for the ankle lockdown.  It wasn't perfect, but it definitely wasn't a problem for me. I also suggest using the "runner's loop" technique to lace them tighter at the top.  Once I did this, the shoe felt/performed exactly as I had hoped it would.  The difference really is night and day.

Ventilation is definitely poor, but that's what you get with this material I suppose.  I was wearing NBA socks which are pretty thick. I'd be curious to see how something like elite socks do with the shoe.

Hope this helps out a little for some of you on the fence.  I'm sure it'd be wise to wait til these are discounted, but I do recommend them.  I was definitely skeptical, but was pleasantly surprised.  Just gotta give them a chance to break in a little.

^^^.where u hooping at ,this late in minne"snow"ta lol ?...
Haha I see you're in St. Paul

I was at an activity center in Cottage Grove at Park HS.  I've got an Xperience Fitness membership, but the court there is pretty terrible.  It's a small makeshift court and is always crowded.  That's why I've been paying to play on real courts occasionally.  Luckily I've got a group that plays on the weekends too.

Just waiting for this snow to move out... I'm ready for some outdoor hoops

I've always regretted selling my lebron 8 sprites so I'm probably going to end up customizing the superheros.

Anyone ball in the elite low yet?

I heard good thing about them as far as cushion but judging from the picture it look like your heel would slip out of the shoes easily.

@ iks

I think eventually the outsole will soften up a bit once more wears are in, once that happens these are gonna be gravy...

Did you notice second half he switched shoes though?!

I honestly think its because the shoes need so much break in time. Unless he rocks orthotics, which my cant even fit in these since the shoe is so narrow, then he probably felt that break in pain that lasts for a good period of time.

Being spoiled with the Kobe 8s and that good to go out of the box feeling made me forget what breaking shoes in was like haha.
