thank you, i just looked up some pictures on flickr shot with the lens and they look really good.i just came back form pawn america and i was looking throughsome lenses and saw they had a used Canon 40D for 999,99$ with what i think the stock lens. the camera is in really good condition.I watched some reviews onyoutube and have to say i really think about buying the camera.
i saw some people have a 40D on here. are you happy with it ? are there some nice affordable lenses for the camera ?
cause i thought about selling my d60 to pawn america and buy the 40D
thanks

^My 40d should be arriving tomorrow. I got the body for $600shipped. Its been used, but not a single scratch on it. Looks brand new, and has no problems. Iwould say a used body goes for 600-800, so you may want to look around for a cheaper one. I hear great things about the camera and am excited to test it out, Iwill post my opinions on the 40d after i get it.

^Do you know how many snaps are on that 40D that you ordered? I mean $600 is seriously a reasonably good price for a mid-range slr.

Shooting events is kind of starting to annoy me... to the point where I barely want to look at the folders with hundreds of shots that need to be edited. Ishot so many events back to back that they all piled up and I only went through about a third of them and uploaded. It's fun when you're out thereshooting, but then a pain in the %@% when you come back home and there are tons of mediocre shots (I'm a newb at Motorsport shooting) that I don't knowif I should edit, or just leave behind. I want to get to that point where it becomes quality over quantity, and be able to just get one amazing shot of eachcar, but for some reason, I just keep bursting when a car (for example) comes by "just in case" and end up with 10 out of 50 decent shots of a car, instead of one ridiculously dope shot. Doing photoshoots is different since you;re able to organize the shot and get it how you want it, etc. Some of thesedudes make it look too easy though, they just pull the camera up to their eye, pan, shoot... money shot. I need some practice.

15k I believe. It has a life expectancy of 100k so I'm fine with it. Here are the sellers photos of it if your interested. SELLERS PHOTOS
Check out POTN.com selling section. You can find some good deals there. Also look on craigslist and ebay. Of course there is always some risk in buying from aprivate seller..

EDIT: BTW, although this has very little to do with the 135L, I love the 85mm f/1.8 on my 1.6 crop xti. That comes out to 136mm which I feel is a great lengthfor portraits, candids, etc.

i got a question...i have the nikon 35mm, 18-55 kit lens, and a 55-200 zoom, is it worth it to keep both the 18-55 and the 55-200? or should i sell one, and ifso which one?

Keep both. 18-55 + 55-200 is a perfect match.

^ Not bad Gabe. That noise is pretty bad on some of them though.

Yo, how do you get the tag to stay in the same place on all the pics? I can only do that if I throw it against the border.

^ Howd u grab the shots of the cars almost not moving and the backroundmoving im a newb too my guess is focusing on the car and continuous.. im a newb too so your trick would help

thanks bro. yeah the noise sucks. supid D50 :frown:i just automated an action in photoshop to do it. i recorded the action placing it where i wanted it to go, thenbam. it can go to every pic within seconds.

and cashmere, it's called panning. it's when you focus on the subject while it's moving and snap the picture in that direction. like you take apicture while moving your camera along with the subject.

it was actually my first time panning too
smile.gif

^ Cashmere, you have to put your camera's dial on Shutter priority and since you're running Nikon, I believe it is going to be the S option. And a goodshutter speed for what you're looking for would be 1/60 . That's what I do.

EDIT: oh and I almost forgot, you have to follow the car with your camera as your shooting

seems like he is taking the same approach i am with tagging viawatermarking.. i use aperture and in the presets it gives you the option to do that .. but like in my previous posts unless you place it tiny on the left orright bottom hand corner its going to inevitably get in the way of the subject

Funny thing is i just looked it up i always knew what the word meant butnot the technique learned alot today between NT and photography class manual focus

sharp as hell

I wanna play. Here are a couple shots some of you may have seen from my blog, some haven't been posted before.. but just some of my favorite photos fromthe past few weeks. I like how the computer light plays off Olivia's face in these shots.

This shot of kids in the front row at the Linkin Park concert is one of my favorite photographs in recent years. It was right as the band was taking thestage and everyone lost their brains. Most of the other photographers and concertgoers were confused as to why, right when the performers started going off, that I turned around and shot the CROWD. But these kids were so happy and enthralled and enraptured in the entire moment, that it was a better shot than a bandcould ever give me. Pretty priceless looks.

Dude are you kidding. I been a member for years. But I've been on since the very beginning of this messageboard back at the turn of the millenium when itwas just basically about Jordans. I'm on NT almost every single day. It is the #1 website I check on a daily basis, more than my Twitter, more than my ownsite. I stopped collecting sneakers a long time ago, but I sit in General and the Photography and Tattoo threads are my favorites to lurk on. So basically, wherever Bana's at. hahaha
