@ksteezy - Welcome... good stuff please cont. to share and provide a link to a website (a Flickr or...) if you have one w/ ya pics. Feeling the first batchyou unloaded, specially the babies... the Halloween stuff I could have done without.
@Sugahill - Good stuff personally like the first SB box shot (the second one posted not so much) and the cereal on the spoon once was nice too.

Anyone in here looking to get the 7D? Christmas is quickly approaching, and I'm definitely making the switch from Nikon.

AirPhilippines - Right now I'm using only primes so a f/4 zoom will be a change for me. It looks very sharp and gives great colors/contrast. I think I willrent one for a week or so and see how I like it. Thanks for the help.

haha, thanx man, glad i inspired your project, keep at it, i learned just like you are learning now, by looking at others pictures and trying to duplicatetheir work.....im far from a pro, ive been shooting for 2 years, although ive learned alot i still have more to go, if you ever need any help hit me up, ill bewilling to help.

Thanks for the offer ksteezy, your newest pictures are crazy nice as usual. I see you're using a fisheye or related lens on this, how do you get thevintage like or grain type look on these candid Statue of Liberty trip shots? A filter on the lens or Photoshop or something else? Also, did you use a bookthat helped you along the way. Thanks for spreading the knowledge!

ksteezy....the only thing that is killing me though is your borders. I have uber ADD when it comes to stuff like that and can't stand when one side issmaller/bigger then the rest. But again, that is cause I am a weirdo...but other then that, your photos are great and your daughter is really cute (no-pedo).

Mr Fongatarr thank you!, I appreciate the feedback in my defense though I only been using borders for multiple pics posting purposes and for my website,I'm not a fan of borders myself, I always felt it distracts the viewer from the actual photo...I really do appreciate the feedback though, ohh and thelittle girl is no my daughter...I wish! She's the cutesy thing, she's a client.
Blaze I don use any filters only uv's and that's for protective purposes....I just practice with different layers on cs3
Usually after I've adjusted composition, crop and minor exposure on LR, I then take it to CS3 where I follow the following steps for this type of edit.
-duplicate layer
-50% overlay
-merge layers
-duplicate layer
-40% destaurate
-merge layers
-duplicate layer
-10-20% gradient layer, for this set I used the yellow/orange gradient
-merge layer
-last step is duplicate layer and add a 30% noise filter for the grainy effect.
Play around with it.
Ohh and no books just forums like POTN and ISS
