Staff was asked to list down all their past drug uses and believed the vetting process wouldn't eliminate them from previous marijuana usage. CNN's report stated that " additional security factors were in play, including for some hard drug use, the official said." (Link)

So yeah, headline may be misleading if there were other factors during within the security background that caused for termination.

Maybe I’m just old, but I don’t understand why anybody would openly admit that used drugs unless it was on their record. Like I’m not gonna snitch on myself, what sense does that make :lol

For a lot of those federal positions depending on the level they’ll make you take a polygraph so you don’t really have a choice but to tell the truth. So they couldn’t lie anyway but that’s ****** up if they were granted immunity :smh:

Do you think that everyday working class black people in the Ohio electorate,
really care about these culture war things tho?

like what does it mean to "excite a diverse electorate" because it feels to me
this culture ware stuff is mostly a white people arguing with white people thing.

I think ****ting on progressives on a bunch of random issues that fundamentally don't matter.
is a good way to establish your own brand. and seperate yourself from the democratic party

im very skeptical that working class poc, really care about Tucker Carlson or whatever

like JD Vance is going to pull this **** and then just vote for tax cuts for the rich,
I don't see why a democrat can't pull the same **** and then vote for actually popular ****.

I really think somebody needs to try.

Working class poc are not gonna stand in line for a dog whistling racist (this is what the culture war Tucker Carlson and Vance is engaging in) Democrat just off the strength of "He is a Democrat, he might vote for good things". Especially if they have to sacrifice a day for it. So he needs to separate himself from the Democrat brand (again, I think it is worth saying the Dems don't really engage in this culture war stuff) for one group, then rely on the Democrat brand to deliver their base. You don't see where that could get tricky?

Even if working class poc don't care about the day to day battles on Fox News, why the hell would they be motivated to vote for a Democrat that prioritizes in fighting these petty often racist battles. Ryan would be better served just running on pocketbook issues (like expanding the childcare credit and a public option), going against free trade, and being extremely pro union. He can be "anti-woke" (whatever the **** that means to white people nowadays) without engaging in the right wing culture war nonsense.

I'm not saying they care, I'm saying you need to focus on giving these people something to vote for. That is were his focus and messaging should be.

Brown and Tammy Baldwin have built brands not buy chasing Republicans but craving out their own America first niche that prioritizes messaging revolved around their states...

Ohio is like a +6 red state, no matter how you swing it, Ryan would need high turnout from African Americans, college educated white people in the burbs (and you could definitely piss off the younger of this group with Fox News nonsense), and win back Obama-Trump voting white people to have a chance. It is a massive task, but you plan depends on him employing a political strategy never used before, that might alienate some voters, in hopes that some regressive white people after being primed on racism issue by both candidates, will vote for...... the smaller racist? Um, ok, what's an idea, but not one I am confident will work.

-The day to to day culture whoring, no I don't think they care much, but to address the demands of a diverse electorate Tim Ryan will have to address some social issues that a Republican will trying to culture war about. So if Ryan wants to run this scam, he is gonna have to find a way to triangulate in these areas, because there is some positions he could take to appeal to moderate whites that would definitely hurting him with the the Democratic base. I just don't see why validating bad faith racist attacks against is gonna lead to anything good.

-And are we forgetting that there will be a primary. (Putting aside to have a chance you need a ton of activism to get people to the polls, especially since we are entering a period of diet Jim Crow when it comes to voting rights. Damn Ohio was already a **** show with people trying to get access to the ballot).Yes a lot of culture war stuff is mainly white people arguing with white people, but the Republican side of it has to do with pushing racist dog whistles. So we are depending on progressive in the primary to just let him cook and make the calculation "yeah, this guy can win over racist white people, let me vote for him out of pragmatism, instead of the other candidates whose politics I like more".

Richard Ojeda voted for Trump and used that fact to carved out a bran for himself in WV, he actually ran like 2-32 points ahead of Trump in his deep red district. This you would think would make him an appealing candidate to run for a statewide seat. Welp he tried, and what little base the Dems had in WV punished his *** for his "branding".

This is the same problem I had with the Bernie Joe Rogan thing. Like I get signal boosting that someone outside of the Democratic base likes you maybe good general election, but why on earth in a primary would anyone think openly saying that racists like you would be received well.

So Tim Ryan is suppose to do on Fox News and defend the printing of racist caricatures, take issue with Critical Race theory, and whatever racist nonsense Tucker Carlson is cooking up. And then turn around after be generally antagonistic of a faction of your base your base and say what? He just playing, it is just a scam? The last two success stories in Ohio are Obama and Sherrod Brown. Why don't try some of the stuff they did?

I just don't see branding yourself as different from the Democratic Party should involve dog whistle racism.

-Famb, I think you just want to see a Democrat **** on young online progressives on a national stage.

Deshaun Weinstein really outchea being a sexual predator :smh:
Yeah, bruh it’s wild. My dude went from a few cases to a class action suit in less than 24 hours. What’s crazy to me in all these cases, definitely with celebs and it seems like even with regular joes, it’s never just one. There’s always a handful.

I sympathize with Joey, I know what it is like to have a tumble on some stairs. So shout out to Joey for getting up the rest of them joints.

While back at my job I was getting some water, and I peeped some cake boxes from "Nothing Bundt Cake" in the lower level break room. Knew them joints must be filled with some mini bundt cake goodness. I thought it was left over from a department party, and it was put out for the rest of the employees to enjoy so it doesn't go to waste.

Ran down the stairs expecting to find maybe a vanilla leftover, or a carrot. I opened the boxes, and saw they were a whole selection of varieties. I thought it was weird, like damn no one wanted these, so I grabbed a Marble and a White Chocolate Raspberry joint. From down the way I heard one lady yelled to her coworker "I rested the deserts in the break room, I have to go grab them". Right then I there I realized I goofed, the event had not happen yet, I was taking **** I shouldn't be taking. ****

So I did what any reasonable adult would do. I quickly wrapped my bundt cakes in paper towels, put my head down, and power walked outta there. Went right pass ole girl like...

I ducked into the stairwell right as I saw her entering the break room. I tried to run up them stairs to safety, but I slipped on like the fourth stair and went tumble back down them joints. Turned an ankle on one leg, tweaked my knee on the other. Thankfully no one saw me, but the injuries I sustained had me walking back into my department like...

Those mini bundt cakes were good though, even though they were crushed the **** up at that point.
