It would undercut alot of their suppression efforts but I don't think it cancels out everything especially at the state level

Does anyone else ever think they'd be better off to stop paying attention to politics?

It's like a bad accident, I can't help but look, but sometimes it really just feels all this hope that things will change is just a pipe dream, and that politicians going to politician. A good majority of the time, it just makes me angry. Yet I still can't help but read this thread.

The GOP is a 100% reactionary party. Anything that is done by Democrats/the government is to be opposed because they don't see the other party as legitimate.

I guarantee that if the GOP gets shut out of power for another term, they will turn to terrorism.

When I say socialism or barbarism, one of the things I’m referring to is the current asymmetry between the two parties. If one believes that the state should exist to primarily or exclusively serve capital and white supremacy and patriarchy and that any win by the opposition party is ipso facto illegitimate. The other party has to counter by seeing the state as existing primarily for the benefit of labor and the liberation of racial and gender minorities and that party must consider any wins by the conservative opposition party as illegitimate.

You can’t beat an implacable right-wing party by pointing out their hypocrisy, taking the high road or appealing to shared history or national identity or history.
