Inflation is an issue, that needs to be addressed, it is hurting a lot of people, but that is mainly an issue for the Fed. They need to soft-land the economy and it is looking like it will be a difficult job
They probably need to end their stimulus early and start with small rate hikes. Start hitting the brakes early and slowly instead of having to slam them on next winter
But Biden has little to do with inflation. He can't solve the supply chain issues, he can't make OPEC bend to his will.
BBB is not gonna affect inflation in short-run (it will provide protection in the long run), then passing it won't make a damn difference
Outlets like CNN want a story so bad they need to paint it as an issue that only is addressed if Biden abandons his agenda. They have had Larry Summers on for a victory lap a couple of times, try to get him to say Biden should abandon BBB and he always says the opposite. And you can tell the host get frustrated because that's not the answer they wanted
Then they bring on another right-wing financial guy to fearmonger about how inflation will hit 10% unless we institute austerity measures.
People are completely ignorant about what drives inflation and how we can fight it. It is just more horse racing BS from outlets
Best case scenario, we got 6 months of this. Worse case 12 months. The best thing the media can do to help people is to convince them this is not a current state of affairs. Because if folk get convinced the other way, that's when things can start to spiral. At that point, self-induced inflation is the only option.
