I'm still amazed that people can rip the obama administration. I saw Obama give a speech at the Air Force academy this year... It was the best speech I've seen in person. The quality of their speaking skills is unlike anything I've seen from a president or candidate in the last 20 years.

Unbelievable.

Read an article today in the New Yorker, essentially stating an assumed truth that there are 3 large groups of the electorate- Minorities, College-educated whites, and "working class" - An assumption I hate, because it insinuates that Minorities don't work, and are different than college-educated whites.

Anyway, it's remarkable to me that in my several elections in being able to vote (this will be my 3rd) Republicans have yet to put forward a candidate that as a minority I feel comfortable backing. I am an independent with several conservative ideologies.

They missed the boat on drug reform, were late to the party on Prison reform, and even after arriving, it wasn't morality but rather for their beloved "budget reasons". They refuse to repudiate their blind allegiance to government employees (Cops, Military) despite their "hatred" for big government. This isn't even mentioning the hypocrisy that is being pro-life and pro death penalty.......I could go on and on about their inconsistencies, but what I really yearn for is a republican party that can adapt, and look in the mirror. Because if we are honest, competition makes the best product, and simply put the Democrats have no competition now adays.

You're gonna be waiting your entire life for that Republican Party to show up.
They better, minority populations are growing. Fast. 2020 might be the last election where whites are the majority. This isn't Europe where polarization works due to multiple parties. If the Republicans don't adapt. They face extinction.

No they really don't.

Through gerrymandering, and voter ID laws they can probably hold onto the House well into the next decade. To make matters worst, liberals demographics tend to not show up to vote in midterms, which is really the life bloodline for the GOP. Come 2020, they might have control of all of Congress and they will have a shot at the presidency if they can get a Jeb Bush type through and Clinton's job approval numbers look bad.

Most governors are still Republican, they have deeper bench, and they control most state legislators even though Democrats have been shown to been able to run states better. Yeah the the electoral math works against them, but all they need is a recession to hit at the right time and they got the presidency.

Demographic shift probably won't force their hand until late into the next decade. Maybe if liberals decide to vote more, or the Supreme Court rolls back voter ID laws and gerrymandering then that day will come earlier. But the GOP will be on this ******** a good while longer.

The damage done by the Republican party during Obama's 8 years in office is irreversible for me. The racism and bigotry witnessed through out the experience can not be unseen or unheard.

I will forever be categorically against the GOP. The modern day Klan for me. A contemporary history of policy and action that greases the machine of systematic injustice in this country. A bigger share of it than any other party, which when paired with the racism :{

I really hope Trump's open and blatant mode of bigotry doesn't allow African Americans to forget the subtle and covert methods the Republican party has operated under for decades prior.

While this military/para-military operation is moving forward, we need to use our diplomatic and more traditional intelligence assets to bring pressure on the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which are providing clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL and other radical Sunni groups in the region.

Qatar/SA gave $25 million to the Clinton Foundation. Clinton is aware they're funding ISIL.
