Repped for calling actual football its correct nameqatar donations have been pervasive in the US for the last several decades. For example, they donated $100 mill to Louisiana for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, $17.5mill of which went to Xavier University.
Tulane Children's Hospital in New Orleans, Habitat for Humanity, Louisiana State University, & the March of Dimes were among those that received portions of the donation.
Let's not forget the cozy relationship the Saudi's have with the US government & Wall St in general particularly with the GOP. We've allowed them to buy up considerable US assets. Let's not also forget how in the carlyle group & halliburton is with them, the Kuwaitis, & other gulf states... The bush family in particular have very close saudi ties going back decades.
The bush led CIA helped fund, train, & arm bin laden when russia was at war with afghanistan...
People think that have this "I gotcha" moment with this emails. There's nothing terrible there... Unfortunately, its modus operandi in American politics...
Shoot, even my favorite football club Barcelona takes tens of millions in kit sponsorship from qatar (I don't like it though).
I hate to say it, if someone were to hack GOP emails, you'd find faaaaaaaaar worse info...
Or just plain old ignorant I'm a young cat and I def know some thingsLike whywesteppin said pages back, you can tell some of these posters are very young due to their lack of fully understanding, particularly with American history.
You're gonna be waiting your entire life for that Republican Party to show up.
They better, minority populations are growing. Fast. 2020 might be the last election where whites are the majority. This isn't Europe where polarization works due to multiple parties. If the Republicans don't adapt. They face extinction.
No they really don't.
Through gerrymandering, and voter ID laws they can probably hold onto the House well into the next decade. To make matters worst, liberals demographics tend to not show up to vote in midterms, which is really the life bloodline for the GOP. Come 2020, they might have control of all of Congress and they will have a shot at the presidency if they can get a Jeb Bush type through and Clinton's job approval numbers look bad.
Most governors are still Republican, they have deeper bench, and they control most state legislators even though Democrats have been shown to been able to run states better. Yeah the the electoral math works against them, but all they need is a recession to hit at the right time and they got the presidency.
Demographic shift probably won't force their hand until late into the next decade. Maybe if liberals decide to vote more, or the Supreme Court rolls back voter ID laws and gerrymandering then that day will come earlier. But the GOP will be on this ******** a good while longer.
Geez Louise. It doesn't end.
Just trying to suppress votes with voter ID laws alone is so dastardly & so un-American. There should be more outrage about this. The gop is a sack of ****.
John Podesta still wears 3 button suits?
Can someone email him to tell him the 90s are over?
Burton noted that in California, for example, registration among Latinos has grown exponentially, "and you're seeing that trend across the country. It's opening doors that wouldn't otherwise be open.... Donald Trump is inspiring a whole new generation of voters to go out and get registered, and get engaged, it's really helping Democrats build up our network."
both parties do a lot of scheming. the problem is the GOP has sold their soul. in the interest of survival they decided to make their worst element the focus of their policies. they did this just to win a couple midterm elections. it won't last.

I would hope people hold the president to a higher standard other than just being a good public speaker. Some of the most heinous leaders of all time knew how too give a good speech and get people going. (Not saying Obama is one of them or in that class)I'm still amazed that people can rip the obama administration. I saw Obama give a speech at the Air Force academy this year... It was the best speech I've seen in person. The quality of their speaking skills is unlike anything I've seen from a president or candidate in the last 20 years.
