I so remember this quote for a post 1898 us history class I took in college. I still paraphrase quote it to this day.

What's interesting about the pastor's comment is that Jews have a better understanding of what the Bible is supposed to say than lots of Christian denominations. After all, they can read some of the earliest transcriptions of the old testament.

lots of the Christian denomination is nothing more than the perversion of Christianity. whenever people talk about god or use Christianity in their political rhetorics, it cringes me a lot since that is not what it is.
