At least Hidalgo kept her position in Texas. Also, repugs didn't gain as much ground in majority Hispanic areas like they were expecting. Think they only gained 1 seat. That's something to hang on to, I guess.

Glad to see gen z holding it down. Very disappointed in gen x. I guess those days of getting wasted and listening to Nirvana cds are way in the past. Too depressing to think about really.

You Sure There's A Problem With Her And Not The Voters?
While I don’t see any progress from the white Republican voters, I do think it’s possible to steal some of those Hispanic Republican voters away. Maybe a Hispanic dem would fair slightly better

As someone who lives in Suffolk County: LI is a beautiful place (particularly out east), but the people are the absolute worst.

Suffolk has been red for quite some time now, but it’s gotten out of control since 2016.
For some optimism: some lady in a neighborhood FB group (Patchogue) made a FB post looking to sell her house for cash citing Hochul's win as her motivation to move and she just got dragged hard by the vast majority of the group.

Patchogue is a pretty youthful town, but it's nice to see that there still appears to be some semblance of hope and sanity out here.

To be honest with you guys my conservative persona on here has actually paid dividends when speaking with conservatives. Can't tell you guys how many times I've been able to convince conservatives in my actual life that Trump isn't a Conservative and isn't worth their vote. Easier to do when I trash libs with them.
