i think it would clarify things if they just called it "crime" more.
i feel like democrats tend to call it stopping "gun violence" or cracking down on "guns."

I think the question of DeSantis political instincts are still unanswered.
Him being Florida as it turns bright red has made him a star in the conservative world but might delude him to the realties of the national electorate
If DeSantis breaks with traditional Republican economics and runs on something like Romney's childcare allowance. That would be very smart of him.
If mans shows up talking like Rick Scott, then he is a idiot. Trump will just lie and sound like an economic centrist again and make a fool of him.
I think Glen Youngkin fooling Virgina mother's into voting for him is much more impressive and speaks to better instincts than DeSantis

I know you didn't mean to, but he hasn't just fought symbolic culture wars. Teachers lost their jobs over the don't say gay stuff, he vetoed a gerrymandered map and demanded an extreme gerrymander that eliminated two black districts, he is arresting people for improperly voting even though the state said they could. All this news about Florida banning gender affirming care for kids doesn't mention he also banned it for adults as well. And socially transitioning your kid might get CPS called on you by a teacher.
I think he has given the Democratic Party more than enough to paint him as excessively cruel.
So let me ask, you really think the things he listed, considering the other **** he has done, is appealing enough for him win in PA, New Hampshire or Michigan? Because he will probably have too.
DeSantis could win FL, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, Wisconsin, Maine #2, and Nebraska #2 and still not get to 270. So I don't think status quo DeSantis has the national appeal people think he has.
I think he could help himself by not thinking his path to the White House is paved by more of the same.

Im not saying his specific policies in Florida you can copy and paste into a national campaign.
the policies he's selected for florida has managed to engage his base while winning over a lot of voters of colours.
and he's drawn some lines with the republican legislator on abortion that I think have helped him.
so imo he's thinking about this on higher level than Rick Scott, Peter Theil and the rest of these idiots.
so to be clear when I said relatively good. relative to other republicans I think his instincts have been pretty good.
whether he can translate this success to a national campaign I agree is a question mark.

So an update what I heard on the other side in the news. Poland is in contact with Biden and NATO. US is sending specialist along with satilitr data to see what it was. Looking at 4 possibilities. Rocket from Belarus, rocket from Russia, rocket from Russia which was shut down, Ukraine doing an inside job to get NATO involved to create a no fly zone. Nothing is ruled out as a possibility.
