She understands the median voter. The median voter will support social democracy if they aren’t startled by some of the left’s (IMO) correct but currently politically incorrect stances.

If you’re on the left and you want immediate results, you want to immediately end someone’s suffering, get involved in mutual aid if you have the capacity for it.

Tragically, the American state cannot turn on a dime. If we can elect out way to social democracy, we will have a more left leaning voter, as well as a multi racial working class with enough of an economic cushion to make further demands on both Capital and the American state.

Let AOC play the electoralism game and if you want something to the left of social democracy, do direct action. Both approaches mutually support the other.

I imagine in due time, the american voter will move just enough left from center that AOC could become a viable presidential candidate. She has a long enough runway ahead of her for the tides to turn more progressive, but it’s for sure the long game with electoral politics.

I think she’s decided to wait a couple of election cycles. She’ll make a move as demographic change, the education divide, the gender divide, and until the median voter was born after 1970 or so, all get to a certain point that she can win the median Dem primary voter as well as the median general election voter.

Until that day, she’s building political capital with the Party and is probably planning to cash it in when she’s president.

It is a big advantage to be so young and already at this level of American Politics. You can wait until the most opportune time.

She’s probably targeting 2032. Getting her in the White House would be huge. She’d be easily pressured to support left political priorities.

Less than three months from the election and the DNC is firing up the base… meanwhile the GOP is leaning on AI generated images

Dems aint even brought in the closer yet

She's a good politician, but I find this incredibly unlikely.

Demographic change won't help her as black and Latino democrats are more conservative than white ones.

She would have the Hillary Clinton problem of being the subject of right wing attacks for a decade +

She calls herself a socialist, which only seems to work for Bernie Sanders.

She'll be a long time politician with a long track record of votes to attack her on.

The future is hard to predict, but she prob should focus on trying to be a Senator and even that won't be easy.

I only know Tony Goldwyn from the film Ghost.

He's been in a lot of other movies. Was in Oppenheimer, Was in The Mechanic with Jason Statham. Costared with Kerry Washington in Scandal for all 124 episodes. Also, he's the new DA who replaced Sam Waterston on Law & Order. Here's his IMDb.

It's crazy watching a shockingly high number of media outlets turn to mush right now. I realize there's always been propaganda. There's always been lies. There's always been slanted coverage. But things had been progressing. Getting better. Things are backsliding. It's like getting motorized transport widely available then watching people act like the only way to move goods or people or administer services is on foot.

Reporters aren't even capable of basic interrogative interviews based on known events. They're treading a madman like a normal candidate. Having Phil Donohue pass away in the midst of this is just a punch to the gut. He wasn't perfect but he had some hard hitting moments and could be counted on to confront people who were doing the wrong thing.

The things that used to disqualify you aren't even registering as mentionable these days because of Trump's whiteness. It's maddening and insane. Like these cult members are holding him up as a lily white god, the embodiment of white supremacy, and therefore he can almost literally do no wrong. He can say anything, do anything, go anywhere, and they will follow.

Well said, we also have to mention the vested financial interest these outlets and “journalists” have in a Trump presidency. They made so much money and had some many views and clicks during his first term that they want that reality again no matter what.
