Had he lived longer, he would have participated in the political sphere very differently than he did prior to his trip to Mecca.

But there is no chance in hell he would say a single positive word about Trump. He would skewer him in public every day. He’d also be super critical of the Democratic Party but rather than being an opponent, he’d be an adversarial ally and would find a ton of acceptance and partnerships with pockets of the left.
