***Official Political Discussion Thread***

I get that. But surely there are other options out there with actual backbones?

there, aren't political parties don't let their incumbents get primaried by strong challengers.

so he's a lock to win the primary, therefore if you are conservative he's your only choice.

The best thing tonight is Texas is mad that Cruz won and I’m talking hard republicans are mad. It’s a masterclass in confusion.

This is straight BS. Kamala has comprehensive policy and specifics on the economy, healthcare, reproduce rights, and much more with specifics. She's articulated it and you can find it very easily, just look. The same BS they tried to pull with Hilary.

The Republicans ain't running on policy, they're running on fear of the other above all. That's the party is in the Trump era.
Her policy on healthcare alone should swing the ballots. What’s trumps? Oh that’s right he has a concept of a plan.. I hate ppl man

nope, unfortunatley this is not true. Kamala's path to victory has narrowed significantly.

Trump is the favorite right now.

This isn't true.

This is the map from last time...Trump may be holding serve and improving somewhat by where where he performed last time; Kamala is also maintaining and growing some margins around the map as well. Especially in the important swing counties (GA and PA).

Until a state swings the other way this is status quo.

It's quite amusing to observe that each time the numbers are analyzed, the report consistently describes Harris supporters as highly educated. For instance, "In Madison, WI, we see a significant number of highly educated voters aligning with the trend of supporting Kamala Harris."

Kamala will do worse in the rural counties than Biden, but better than him in the metros.

BTW, comment appropros of nothing: when I went to Atlanta last spring for the first time, I'd only ever heard about the whole "America's Black Capitol" thing. After two days, I was, like, "okay, I get it now".

Little do they know I’m on a sneaker forum asking someone to explain to me how Florida requires 60% of their voters to overturn an amendment. Real genius, I tell you

Trump is about to take VA.

MSNBC and CBS dont sound too confident about Kamala winning PA.

I never said the policy was good, what I'm saying is at least all of us in this thread can remember what they actually are running on, whether we agree with it or not and no matter how crazy it is.

The Dems didn't run on any policy that was memorable except women's reproduction rights, which to be honest, is an issue that white suburban women care about more than most minorities
What are you talking about?

In addition to abortion access and IVF (policies under threat by Reps), she also ran on providing support for first-time homebuyers, expanding M4A, and reducing the cost of childcare. In addition to that, I know she won't threaten to end policies like the CHIPS act, which is making the US competitive in a critical area of competition in this century, or the infrastructure bill, which is creating jobs for folks without college degrees.

Did I mention that she won't sell us out to foreign leaders who want to undo the alliances on which our economic system (and your relative prosperity) rests? Should ask how those soybean farmers are doing today?

Deporting people won't automatically give jobs to the jobless; we saw it with the rotting fields of crops during the first Trump administration. This was happening despite farmers offering top dollar to Americans for backbreaking work.

There are more uninhabited houses than there are homeless people, so what is taking more people out of the country going to do for the homeless that can't be done today?

At some point people just have to admit that they are indifferent to everything else they're going to get with Trump. And if he wins, they shouldn't be surprised when they ask for help and the first question they are asked to answer is, "who did you vote for?" and are treated accordingly.
