***Official Political Discussion Thread***

You can't fool us with this virtue signalling
Let's change the debate to men who run errands with their wife while wearing chelsea boots
Chelsea boots, glazed pants, a Kanye droopy neck shirt and the Melania hat is nasty work for a weekend grocery run with your lady.

Federal employees are in absolute shambles right now. While hiring freezes, furloughs, and forced reductions aren’t new, it seems like things have never been this chaotic. Job offers are being rescinded left and right, DEI positions are being placed on administrative leave or eliminated, federal authorities are purging anything remotely related to DEI, probationary employees are being targeted, and many agencies have already mandated RTO—leaving employees who live hours away scrambling. This has been one of the longest weeks in a lot of people’s lives.

I must be super gay because I’m on grocery shopping and cooking duty alone now that we have a baby DaComeUp on the way . Wife kicking her feet up at home while I’m out in these Trader Joe’s and WF streets

I mean I’m single but I actually enjoy grocery shopping. Maybe I’m different I don’t know.

I had a high level IRS position offered to me this past summer in their speciality division for banking as a subject matter expert. I told the person who I’d be reporting to that I’m hesitant to be on probation because of the potential political election results. He thought I was crazy to be worried. I guess I wasn’t.

Today was my last day at the current job and going into industry now anyway as of Monday so I pivoted to something good anyway but man am I glad I passed on the IRS.

Government employees have their heads so far up their *** sometimes. They can’t understand why anybody wouldn’t want to work there because it’s so casual but pays poorly

They also think nothing will ever change which clearly can change overnight

Yeah, I see this mindset with some of the old heads in my office. Going to be a lot of question marks for folks working in the Fed in the upcoming months.

Meanwhile, the people who committed treason and instigated events that led to deaths are being pardoned and hailed as patriots of the American people. 🤦‍♂️

I laugh at all the people who comment 'good' or 'that's what they get' when I bet majority of those folks could not even pass a public clearance background check to qualify for a federal job. Clowns.

Yeah, like in not ****ting on all government employees don’t get me wrong but a lot of the old timers suck.

“Why wouldn’t you want to work here? You get paid to do nothing”

Well… thanks to your attitude and doing nothing you ruined another good job and now we all are a target.

Willing to bet at least 75% either didn’t vote or voted for him too

I'm sure the RTO mandate will push many employees to either retire , retire early or quit, especially those who don’t live within commuting distance of their duty station or another federal agency. This will reduce numbers quickly. If that doesn’t achieve the attrition they’re aiming for, then probationary employees with subpar reviews will likely be next. It’s going to be a wild ride!

Regarding remote work, why do people who live in the middle of nowhere in Iowa feel the need to criticize people who live in large metro areas with slow/unreliable public transportation and massive amounts of traffic?
Not to mention the increased burden on taxpayers to cover the costs of office space, utilities, and furniture for employees returning to the office. And let’s not forget another glaring issue: parking. Many government agencies barely have enough parking as it is, even with employees working remotely. It’s a complete mess and shaping up to be a logistical nightmare.

Ask them why they are afraid to visit a big city like NYC as well. Ignorance is truly bliss.
