Oh yeah for sure. Eventually (through the forming of gangs) they weaseled their way into society, and they had it easier because they look European. (which makes no ******* sense lol.)

Even from an early age I thought the concept of treating someone differently just because they look different was completely ******* ******ed.
yeah its a shame. when i talked to my white friend who voted for trump i was shocked to see how oblivious he was of how much he benefits from the system in this country. the lack of knowledge or willful ignorance is a huge problem which is why this affects me so much on a personal level being a minority to have someone elected in office who is a brazen bigot and did not catch any flack for it. it makes sense now about his base and i find a huge problem with how it corresponds with american political culture as well. Trump does signify everything wrong with this country: old privileged white man with no care at all for the minorities, muslim, women, and poor. truly sad sight to behold

Watched Hillarys speech from this morning and i know im late but i just had to say im glad she didnt win...

Why do I have a odd feeling Trump isn't gonna officially accept being president and basically withdraw [emoji]129300[/emoji]
He ain't gonna withdraw man
But with the Trump university cases, there's a chance of impeachment if they find evidence of fraud and racketeering
However Mike Pence gonna be the president if that were to happen

Yeah man it is really sad. My hope is that eventually all of the old racists will die off and things will get a lot better. I know I wasn't raised to be racist and I will be damn sure my daughter is raised to treat every single person with respect. However, I know it will always exist in some capacity I just hope eventually it gets to a point where it is rare and not tolerated.

I do think part of the problem was Hillary too, I think she was a terrible candidate and had any other decent democrat ran they would have surely won (or at least I really hope so.)

Having white privilege doesn't mean the system automatically works in our favor. You have to be white and have money for that to be the case.

There are tons of poor white living in absolute economic despair that I would never in my life tell them they are "privileged" to lead such a life.

BUT

That is really not what black people are trying to say. They are trying to say that the system doesn't work against you at every step of the way.

---------If you're white all you have to do to escape most institutional disadvantages you have is to climb into the middle-middle class. Really that is it.

For a person of color, it is inescapable. Not matter how hard you work, the our socio-economic system will be rigged against you.

So while I do see why it is frustrating for white people not living large to be upset about them being told they have this built in advantage over everyone else, consider for a moment how it feels to be black, and to know that the trajectory of your life in part will be affected by the color of your skin. That the system doesn't you boost, but actively tries to handicap you.

You think being labeled a racist is frustrating, try being a victim of it. Upset that your opinion isn't valued, try living in a society where your body isn't

Barrack Obama, love him or hate him, did not deserve the disrespect he got over the years. He came into office, on the hope (especially from black people) that America was ready to turn the corner on race relations. That all we were asking was not a leg up, but to be put on a equal playing field. Then from the jump he got figuratively spat in his face by the Tea Party's white nationalism, and as a result the entire black community got spit on. He was our black president, and **** him

Electing Donald Trump was the last grand **** you to minorities and especially black people. So take a step back and look at that. Eight years after you're full of hope that the country will turn the corner, many in the white community wanted it to be known that was not the case. Not only that, they want to regress

What is worst, is that the economic fates of black people and poor whites are inherently tied to one another. And while as one groups actively votes in favor of their self interest, the other does not. Poor whites need a jobs program, food security, health insurance, and a strong social safety net as much as poor blacks do. But the mere idea that they have to be allied with black or brown people turns so many of them off.

So maybe the only white privilege poor whites enjoy is being the most self destructive, hustling backwards demographic in America's history, yet still will be labeled and propped up as "Real Americans" by conservative elites.

If black people that indulged in that level of destructive behavior, we would be labelled thugs, and funneled into jails.............hold up, poor whites also get funneled into jails, but they're are against criminal justice reform mostly and very pro-police for some strange reason.
------------

So know if you're white and want to help, truly help, become a social democrat.

Even if you have seemingly naive racial views you can help black people, brown people, and most white people by fighting against classism. Because classism is one of the major weapons of institutionalized racism.

You want to be able to tell that loud mouth black guy calling you a racist to shut up about some privilege, make society more equitable. That way you know, and he knows, that the trajectory of each of your lives were not based on the color of your skins.

Until that day comes, you really won't have a non racist leg to stand when debating black people about "privileges".

My problem is that it ain't old white people this thing is gonna last generations unless we address it and I mean actually address it and even then we will still have to deal with it. I do feel that Hilary was a weak candidate but I will be honest in saying she was better than Bernie imho. Her policies were more feasible in the political climate currently and I feel as though she would be able to work better with republicans in getting things done instead of Sanders. I also feel that his policies were quite vague and even though I supported him (I voted for him in the primaries over Clinton) I always had a feeling that he wouldn't be able to get a lot of the stuff he wanted passed. And if he couldn't get things he wanted done then we will be where we are now with the GOP ready to seize the presidency by continuing obstructionism.

But I think an even bigger problem is voter turnout. If more people had voted without a doubt Hilary would've won. Democrats really dropped the ball this time feeling as though they need "inspiration" when Trump running should be more than enough to get them out there to defend the last 8 years of progress this country made. Instead all people seem to care about is pushing that "voting don't matter" BS when we see what happens when the people who actually VOTED end up getting what they want. The irony in this entire situation is just hilariously funny yet sad at the same time
