***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Not trying to hear off-script political commentary during a show but when they finish the show they can say whatever they want for all I care. They did their job and I would get my money's worth. Why on earth would I make a big deal about a few lines of political commentary, or any commentary for that matter, at the end of the show as people are already leaving? The Hamilton cast basically just thanked Pence for watching the show and addressed some concerns the cast had in a short and very respectful manner. Who whines about that?

Sounds like these people just need to grow up.

Are these people whining in movie theaters too when the credits contain something political or that they don't like?

It doesn't matter.

After they have fulfilled their contract, which was give a theatrical performance in exchange for money, they are free to do and say as they wish within the confines of the law.

If you're not happy about people expressing their opinion, you should probably pack up and leave. :p

Balderdash. Unless the play was over, while on stage they are still representatives of the theater company and should conduct themselves as such. No one wants to be pay to hear some guy stand on his soapbox.
the play was over. so i guess we're all on the same page here and can move on to discuss more pressing matters.

So ya been badgering me to respond about a video jeff sessions made about Dominicans...and all he did was offer a critique on chain migration (which isn't going anywhere anytime soon) and sham marriages which nothing revealing or shocking

(see sanky panky https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanky_Panky_(film))

some of ya so desperate in da demise at liberalism ya just throwing spaghetti on da wall at this point.

liberals & their hacks lost November 8th, time for some of ya to have introspection on why democrats have become tone-deaf to da majority needs of da country...and are now a endangered species.

getting out of ya echo chamber would help tremendously.
I actually took the time to read his entire post, so here's a short version of it for those who don't feel like reading through all of his gibberish:

Lmaoooo

Hamilton isn't going to be affected by this....if anything it'll help their sales even more, if you haven't noticed aside from Ninja and Rico, NY is not very fond of our Pres-Elect and even less of the homophobic Vice President....hope they make these clowns feel uncomfortable and disrespected everywhere they go...God bless freedom of speech

had trump lost all these idiots harrasing immigrants would be out killing them with their lynch mobs and militias.

these types of people are the ones killing cops not BLM.

i love how the only minorities they respect are the ones that have made a career of putting down their own kind and other minorities.

those people know thats the only way into their circle and to move up in their world.

They won though. At the root this all just a bunch of sore losers. Plain and simple.

Sore losers ya keep saying as if ya exempt from the ****show that's about to follow this presidency
Lololol the sore losers from the past 8 years of the Obama presidency were burning effigies resembling the Jim Crow days
it's getting ridiculous when people are defending and caping for a thin skinned president-elect
Shows how easily he gets mad at something that isn't even a big issue

"If his presidency works well"

Not sounding too confident anymore uh?

Is it because the swamp got 10 feet deeper?

You cool with his choices so far? So many of them indulge in da identity politics only meant for da left

Maybe you finally starting to realize you got swindled, hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray?

Been in NY all your life but couldn't spot a con man :{ :|

No wonder you don't wear da Jesus piece in public

The right really hates or doesn't understand the first amendment

That's why you're seeing all of this "you lost so be quiet" stuff

I actually feel sorry for the people who supported The Bigot. He's about to play them (and everyone else) badly (or should I say bigly?).

I do more reading than commenting here, because from time to time I will read something that surprises me, basically pro or con my own opinion. That said, if we take a look at history, the cast of Hamilton did the right thing. Protests never happen at the right time for the conservative republican, ever. That person would rather you protest in your closet, to your god if you have one. If you don't have one, they feel as if the reason you need to protest about anything is because you don't have a god. Reading about the protests during the '68 Olympics, commentators like Brent Musberger stated that it wasn't the right time for Black Athletes to protest, and Tommy Smith, John Carlos should have been stripped of their medals, then kicked off the team. Much of the spirit of today's protests are in the vane of those '68 olympics, and the cast of Hamilton simply carried that tradition, doing it very well I might add.

The thing was that.....the cast of Hamilton wasn't even protesting
They simply made a statement to Pence of their worries
Trump literally made it seem like it was a protest
For a president-elect that said he wants all Americans to be together....he sure isn't doing a good job at it :lol :x

I know, right wing jackasses hate any break from the script. They love predictability, and do not mind the same stuff over and over again. They hate improvisation, they can't follow an artist that breaks from script because it makes them think. They hate thinking, why would anyone want to do that? Don't change the show! That's appalling!

There is no way Trump deliver on all his promises, and for that reason, his supporters will have to invent a new criteria to claim him to be a success.

Putting civil rights, social justice, human rights, flip flopping, being to big business, foreign policy, conflict of interest, and other miscellaneous scandals aside (Trump will most likely be a **** show in these areas to varying degrees), and just focusing on economics, there is no way for Trump to be successful, or his base to champion him as a success, without looking like hypocrites.

He will have little not not effect on the economy next year. So while there is an outside chance that we grow at 3% and still have unemployment low, that will pretty much be chalked up to the economic finally kicking into gear after a long recovery. And be more on Obama that Trump, which historically it has.

So, from them on.....

The only way Trump is proven a success with proving republicans and people like Ninja to be hypocrites is if he gets tax reform(will happen), deregulation (will happen somewhat), no infrastructure bill (huge political fight), no cuts on major programs (This won't happen, Ryan is already foaming at the mouth). The infrastructure bill is just a way to boast economic numbers to draw attention away to the massive deficits Trump is about to run (Se Reagan's massive number, see Bush Jr. massive numbers). So if Trump supporters ignore the deficit, they will be hypocrites because the screamed about 20 trillion debt under Obama.

Obama has been asking for a infrastructure bill for years. Sooo, all these dudes that complained about Obama's failed Keynesian policies are gonna look like damb hypocrites again celebrating an infrastructure bill (a popular policy of the left).

Not only that, Trump has no mandate (Clinton is gonna win popular vote by nearly 2 million it seems), carried states because of a ton of flip voters (who can easilt flip back), and has no political power to make the GOP bend to his will (high incumbent winners in this election).

So if you're a Trump supporter, maybe it is time to climb off the high horse and start praying. Da Don might need them.
