Yeah, the cost is insane and who knows what will happen federally

But if it does, I have no problems with doing my part

Well we don't have a National value added tax but state levels sales taxes function in a similar way.

While libertarians love VAT tax would be unpopular on the conservative right and left. One the right just because it is a new tax, on the left because VAT taxes are regressive.

Our tax code needs to be made more progressive not regressive. But I would like if we do ever have a VAT or if sale taxes can be reformed is that they tax be expanded to include the service industry. Our economy is based a lot on services and a lot of transactions don't get taxed. If we can pull that off then we could lower the overall sales tax and give the lower classes a break. Or use some of the excess funds to fund something like the expansion of the EITC.

But I could go on all day about how I would change the tax code.

But I love your attitude famb, I too would happily pay more in taxes if it meant everyone being taken cared of. Not all for altruistic reason but it is good economics in the long run
