Rico only created this thread back in the day because there were a number of political threads at one time in general. Dudes were complaining about it
Rico was one of the usuals so he made the thread. He was not some pioneer
It is not the liberals fault that so many conservative posters have gotten banned for racism or trolling. Crc couldn't stop line stepping and got frustrated with getting checked, and that Rex became a socialist so he can't provide the right with cogent arguments anymore.
People wanna complain about a circlejerk, but what to ignore the facts of why this threads only left with progressives
If Rico and his pal had ammo to antagonize with, they would be here more. But Trump is not providing them with any talking points. Tough

^there was some initial excitement when the travel ban first came out. but after half-a-dozen losses in the courts, da deplorables are starting to lose enthusiasm.
Just wanted to highlight this segment. Oliver does a great job making this about coal miners themselves vs. the owners of the coal mines and trump (instead of coal vs. renewable energy).
This is something liberals need to do more often. Highlight the hypocrisy and make it clear they are on the side of the working man.
Then maybe da coal gang will get behind even Crooked H herself.

He always complained about being labeled a racist when he said something racially insensitive
If I remember correctly some his last post before he stop posting one time was to imply minorities support Dems for welfare and handouts. And to say that black people were committing genocide because the abortion rate is higher among black women and he said he is surprise Dems we're not pro-life because their voters were being killed. Big Reagan guy too.
But yeah, he had issue with people suggesting he was racist. Dude had a major blindspot. Needless to say me and him did not
get along.
-Rex was a libertarian, kinda had a blindspot on race issues. Nothing too bad. I could have him confused with someone else but in 2012 he was saying he was gonna vote for Obama's opponent no matter who it was.

You would think the current progressive heavy tone of the thread would move the other characters to look in the mirror but that's highly unlikely. The problem with those living off physical labor is that very often they do bot have the exposure to the kind of education that would allow them to understand why they can't compete against automation. Also, they often do not realize that the motivations of corporate (focused on efficiency) are at odds with their motivations (keep the money coming in). Because they are told by management that they are a "family" (which they believe), they do not always understand that corporate offices ultimately see them as units of production, rather than people.
As a result, they won't listen to Democrats until the big bad machine is rolled on the production floor, plugged in, and the plant boss points them to the nearest unemployment office. Unfortunately, by then, it's too late. That is why college is important: it allows you to see the broader aspects of society that you're not likely to experience if you go directly from your biological family to your professional family. It exposes you to the mechanisms that make society function in order for the individual to have a better understanding of their position.
Cheap/free higher education is the only way to make sure that people can be informed and see where their interests really lie.

To touch on the complaints of the right wing conservatives in here, there's nothing stopping you from posting and contributing. As ALL of us have said, we welcome more discussion and differing viewpoints. Rico, for all the selfishness he's espoused, has at least been consistent in posting his views without breaking NT rules. The wind and other conservative posters have either been trolls or racist trolls, so of course there's no discussion to be had there. @handullz and @TimidTebow and anyone else is welcome to offer differing viewpoints, but they need to be genuine and, hopefully, educated. I believe the two things we snowcucks won't tolerate in this thread are racism and ignorance. If you think we're taking shots at anyone for giving da COOOAAAAALLLL TRAIN a voice, then offer a thought that isn't stepped in ignorance like so many conservative talking points are.

Actually if I remember way back Rex was more conservative, but even then he got his points across well unlike others who stoop to hatred and trolling.

I like to debate. I would love if there wean equal number of non racist intelligent conservatives in here.

Trump winning and changing energy policy & cafe standards was already "my win" Rico naming this thread appropriately is just calling it what it is, spade a spade.
