Bernie gonna beat this. He wife seems like she might of been finessing and he just made a call to help her out. Something affluent folk do all the time. But they, given his rhetoric, this does look bad. And he should have known better to do something like that

It is a good thing that all this stuff is coming out in the open. Institutional racism has nothing to do with the laws and everything to do with the assumptions we make about one another and the inability to look past that. That is the thing that deniers of racism (like the people who accuse Obama for worsening race relations) refuse to acknowledge.

I'm sorry, but I disagree somewhat. While what is in someone's heart does matter a lot, even if you could wave a magic wand and make everyone in this country not racist, minorities, especially black people would still get unequal outcomes. Our system gives too many people an economic motive to plunder minority communities.
