If Jesus was around....

Evangelicals would hate him

Republicans would call him a socialist extremist

And the Feds would put him on the no fly list

If Jesus was around he'd probably be assassinated once "they" figured out what the deal was.

Sidenote a modern Jesus would be dope, son would be on IG Live performing miracles and all types of ****. Dude would be in the hoods and poor communities of the US making moves amassing an army of followers. Far left terrorist label coming day one.

He'd be on Fox news getting absolutely slandered day in and day out.

What do you guys think of Trump making Jerusalem the capital of Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu?

Rusty can speak for himself but I've never seen him say that the Democratic mainstream is always fair or helpful towards black voters.

Forget about all of the political disagreements with Trump, I think that the way that he talks about Japan could be a sign of dementia. His mind is stuck at some bar on lower Manhattan circa 1982. Japan, in the 1960's through the 1980's, used administrative tactics to slow down foreign imports while not breaking WTO rules. They never used the bowling ball test but that story is apocryphal of what they did, 30 years ago.

Japan is just trying to provide quality products to their people while getting out of unfair trade/import deals #MJGA

Seriously though, does he expect everyone in the world to bow down to the power of #MAGA and give us what we want at the expense of themselves?

i know, stupid question. The hypocrisy kills me every day.

They would dislike the earliest Christian a lot too. Pacifist, egalitarian, cosmopolitan, (((globalist))), urbanites who were community organizers and who wrote with a scary, non roman alphabet (hand written Greek looks very different from the right winger's segregated fraternity's logo. If right wingers can confuse Elvish with Arabic, they'd be calling the cops if they saw a gospel written in its orginal script. They would think that the old papyrus is laced with anthrax).

Also, those administrative tricks don't even happen any more. For better or for worse, Japan's ruling class is totally bought into free trade. They abide by WTO rules now. Trump might as well be complaining about overly short basketball shorts or acid washed jeans.

End of times?

Yup. Move could signal the building of the third temple followed by the events that end in the Battle of Armageddon (WW3) which will be followed by acceptance of Jesus as savior by the Jews which will signal his return and the thousand years of peace foretold.

If you believe in that kinda stuff

Here is a really good report on the disintegration of the public school system. It's a 44 pg report so beware.

munities of color across the United States. We write this report because we need the American people to know that the public
education systems in our communities are dying. More accurately, they are being killed by an alliance of misguided, paternalistic
“reformers,” education profiteers, and those who seek to dismantle the institution of public education
. Some are being killed
quickly; others are still in the early stages. But it is, at this point, quite clear that there will soon be little to nothing left of our
public school systems – and many more like ours – unless current trends are disrupted.
As can be seen in Figure 1, America’s predominantly Black and Latino communities are experiencing an epidemic of public
school closures.
1
For example:

In New Orleans, beginning in the Fall of 2014, there will only be five public schools left in the entire city.

Detroit, New York, and Chicago have all had more than 100 public schools closed in recent years.

Columbus (OH), Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Houston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Kansas City, Milwaukee, and Baltimore
have all had more than 25 public schools closed in recent years.

Many other urban districts – including numerous districts not pictured in Figure 1 – have also experienced multiple school
closures, particularly within the last few years. And there are many others in the works.

Jersey City's 4,000-member teachers union strikes for first time since 1998

Jersey City's public-school teachers walked off the job for the first time in 20 years today, leading to confusion and some chaos across the 29,000-student district as teachers led boisterous protests outside city schools.

Students all over Jersey City skipped class to join their teachers on the picket line. A loudspeaker outside School 20 blasted Aretha Franklin's "Respect." Teachers at McNair Academic High School yelling "scab" tried to block substitute teachers from entering the school.

The work stoppage comes after months of failed negotiations between the Jersey City Education Association -- the 4,000-member union representing the teachers and other school employees -- and the Jersey City Board of Education. A late-night effort to come to a deal failed at last night's school board meeting.

She’s been keeping it in line for more than a decade. In 2005, George W. Bush launched his second presidential term with an aggressive push to partially privatize Social Security. For nine months, Republicans demanded that Democrats admit the retirement system was in crisis and offer their own program to change it. Pelosi refused. Democratic members of Congress hosted more than 1,000 town-hall meetings to rally opposition to privatization. That fall, Republicans backed down, and Bush’s second term never recovered.

In 2009, Pelosi persuaded deficit-wary Blue Dog Democrats to back Barack Obama’s stimulus package, and it passed without a single Republican vote. The following year, when Rahm Emanuel, then the White House chief of staff, suggested scaling back health-care reform after the Democrats’ surprise Senate loss in Massachusetts, Pelosi insisted that Obama maintain his goal of universal coverage. She enraged her pro-choice allies by allowing a vote on an amendment prohibiting women insured through the law’s health-care exchanges from receiving government-subsidized abortions. But that gave antiabortion Democrats cover to support the bill, which passed with nary a Republican vote.

These victories led Thomas Mann, who studies Congress at the Brookings Institution, to call Pelosi the “strongest and most effective speaker of modern times.” And even after being relegated to minority leader when Republicans took the House in 2010, she kept winning legislative fights. In the summer of 2015, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and the Republican Party launched a mammoth lobbying campaign to kill Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran. Pelosi quickly secured the votes to prevent Republicans from overturning the agreement, thus checkmating the deal’s foes.
"

The GOP is scared of her, and they are running the same play they did against Hillary: use her gender as a scarecrow to discourage potential Dem voters.

And you're falling for it.

It seems like the main arguments against Pelosi are:

- She is not black, Latina, young or blue collar and thus has trouble connecting with the former demographics, who are our Party's core, nor can she appeal to the latter two groups whom we must win/win back.

- She should have resigned after the 2010 midterms, the way that a British Prime minister resigns, whether it is fair or not, after any sort of major defeat.

- Her name acts a s powerful cudgel in House races all over the Country.

- She does not excite the center left or the hard left base.

The main arguments for Pelosi are:

- She has to get elected every two years and she does just that.

- She is a skilled parliamentarian and that is the minority leader/speaker's main requirement for those jobs. The DNC chair is in charge of winning elections.

- Who ever replaces her will quickly become a lightening rod for conservatives. I could imagine Tim Ryan, within six months, being painted as a gun grabbing, Volvo driving, socialist, cultural Marxist. That's to say nothing of Keith Ellison or Barbara Lee or Maxine waters.
