***Official Political Discussion Thread***

So Obama was at the G7 and he decided to address Trump with a few choice words. Now say what you want about Trump but I find it highly detrimental to our international interests for a sitting President to get on the world stage and bad mouth his possible successor. I think it was a Tacky move on Obama's part.

More tacky than anything Drumpf has done during his entire campaign?

I mean he's telling everyone what some "nervous" world leaders have told him about Drumpf :lol

He's been bad mouthing just about every major US ally,of course the president would reprimand him publically for that to try reassuring them.

In other news, apparently Drumpf has agreed to debate Bernie before California...8o

Wonder if Hillary will want in now :lol

There's a huge difference between a private citizen attacking a President and a President attacking a private citizen, especially to people who may one day have to work with said citizen.

He's not attacking another private citizen though :lol. The man is the GOP nominee and might have a shot at becoming the next CIC. His view on international matters will hold a bit more weight than the averge citizen and world leader have already been voicing their concern about his rhetoric

I'm well aware about the misgivings other world leaders have. But presumptive nominee or not, it's highly inappropriate. By doing this, he's potentially undercutting any juice Trump might have if elected. That puts us at a huge disadvantage come January if Trump is elected.

Well lets see what Barrack said though

“They are rattled by [him] and for good reason,” Obama said on Thursday. “Because a lot of the proposals he has made display either ignorance of world affairs, or a cavalier attitude, or an interest in getting tweets and headlines, instead of actually thinking through what it is required to keep America safe and secure and prosperous, and what’s required to keep the world on an even keel.”

So let's go back at Trump's previous comments...

“Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.”

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems. They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime. They’re rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they’re telling us what we’re getting.”

What I'm saying is NATO is obsolete. NATO is -- is obsolete and it's extremely expensive for the United States, disproportionately so. And we should readjust NATO.

And it's going to have to be either readjusted to take care of terrorism. Or we're going to have to set up a new -- a new coalition, a new group of -- of the countries to handle terrorism, because ter -- terrorism is out of control.

I mean most Americans understand a good majority of the time Trump is just talking nonsense and as Kimmel stated last night interviewing him... "So you were full of $^%t when you said this?" However other world leaders whom don't quite know that American culture of talking a big game should be "rattled" at his comments

Obama also largely deflected questions about Clinton's use of a private email server, saying he's addressed the topic previously and the questions would be better put to the campaign.

8o ninja?

this is what Obama said about Drumpf. not that wild:

edit: doobie beat me to it.

If you don't see the obvious political pandering being done. Comes at Trump, but won't speak on Hillary even though it was recently reported that she did act inappropriately.

He pobably would if wasn't for his son. Famb said he still cantrol his emotions, sad

But people forget how moderate Biden is, I wonder how that would have played. But true, Obama would fade this entire field

It's hypocritical to support Trump and be worried about how the US is perceived abroad.

He has stated multiple times that he is willing to bully anyone who doesn't support American interests regardless of their own interests.

Allies' worries regarding a possible Trump presidency are justified given his confrontational tone and message.

There's maybe a way to exercise a third term responsibly in extremely rare cases but we just haven't figured it out yet. Or, the electors haven't politicized those dynamics yet to actually implement/open us up to anything like that yet.

Having grown up in a country where the constitution was constantly modified to allow the president to run for yet another term after his final one (according to the constitution), I can say it's a very bad idea. It creates the kind of precedent that would allow a would-be despot to come to power and stay indefinitely.

You lack da vantage point that most people feel we dont have that "American Exceptionalism" posture anymore.

This country subscribes to individualism.

And greatness starts by letting individuals aspire for as much as they want.

Why hold yourself back? Eff that. let's be great.

You can aspire all you want but capital still matters.

Let's look at our own history and put aside race and racism. Let's just look at white people liking under different economic conditions.

Settlers in most of the South had to started their economic lives in debt because the land was owned by very wealthy absentee land owners who lived hundreds and even thousands of miles away. In places like Minnesota and Wisconsin, settlers did not have to go into debt (to acquire the land at least). The reason was because of the North West Ordinance and the Homestead Act, basically a big government land giveaway for those who were willing to work the land.

Centuries later, white people in Minnesota and Wisconsin are much wealthier than the average white person in Georgia or the Carolinas. I am sure that white southerns aspired as much as German settlers in the upper Midwest but their generational wealth ultimately hinged on the terms of how they acquired their land.

Life aint fair thou...

U posed to play da hand ur given.

I think this is only the tip of the iceberg for #crookedhillary.

Ignore the fact that she's essentially been named a criminal at your own peril. Bernie might just make it to a contested convention. She can't cough her way out of this one.

Cats in here really talking about rewriting the Constitution to allow Obama a third term. Incredible.

Imagine if the other partyou tried to pull some **** like that every time their guy lost? Even thinking like that sets an incredibly dangerous precedent. Easily more dangerous than ANYTHING Trump has proposed.

Your whole idea is asinine. It is literally the most ridiculous idea I have ever heard proposed in my life. There are so many ways that this could backfire that I'd probably give myself carpal tunnel syndrome by typing it. Like my god, this is a damn democracy. Your guy might not win, deal with it for the next four years and try again in 2020.
