***Official Political Discussion Thread***

This has been going on for months, though. God damn.

Guess a sliver lining to take from this whole Dem nomination process is that dude came out of nowhere and put up a tougher fight against Hilary than anyone could've imagine while sowing the seeds for a long lasting and freshly energized and rejuvenated progressive movement.
I agree, Bernie Sanders somehow energized a base that probably didn't intend to vote anyway or had grown disillusioned by the process.

Trump's speech yesterday was pretty scary. He's alienated some people with his bigotry but I don't think the majority of Americans disagree with his logic. If he takes a couple of steps towards the center, keeps using his charisma to win over the common person and attacks Hillary using Bernie's strategy + nastier tactics - I don't know what'll happen.

Rico has already said he doesn't give a **** about social issues, even those facing black people.

He straight up doesn't care. He has pretty much said so.

The main thing he looks for in a candidate is who will cut his taxes.

So his main beef with the black community is that they care about the social injustices facing them, and refuse to cosign that GOP's nonsense, which in turn cost him tax dollars

But don't call him selfish or a cornball. He, like Ninja, is a free thinker.

78% of black primary voters went for Clinton. Congratulations, once again the black vote was shown to be a monolith. :{ :{

What are you implying here?

That Black people can't think for themselves.

That majority vote based off of who they think will have their best interest. Then you have name recognition

Which is what's supposed to happen. However, considering Rico Hood's stance on Black issues, it's not hard to see what he meant by that statement.

Of course, however, black people tend to do the same thing over and over the same way and expect different results. We see what we need to do in order to get a candidate to do things for us and not just minorities as a whole, and yet we don't do it because they prance around and having meetings w/ Al Sharpton.

Yeah I don't really agree it is that simple.

And I find it weird that some black people will raise hell one white people and conservatives make blanket assessments of what black people need to do to overcome systemic racism

But then do the same thing whenever they're on the fringe of an issue. And the wider black community is not in agreement.

The being scene with Sharpton isn't really true IMO, because if so anyone could do it. The black community as a whole tend to be more pragmatic, and need to trust the candidate.

When it comes to campaigning, Hillary and Bill put in decades of work, Bernie was scrambling from the jump.

And as a base, black people have to vote. We can talk about money all day, but it is a fact that the groups that vote consistently get better results. Probably the main reason the GOP tried so hard to block Obama, because him being a success could have lead to black voters turning out in force constantly. And the GOP knows it can't answer to black voters and sws at the same time

It's amazing how every time something happens we have to find a way to make it black people's fault.

I've said this once, I'll say it again...

Bernie Sanders really thought he could become the democratic nominee without having to talk to black people and caught a fair L.

Whose fault is that?

I think the narrative that Bernie Sanders didn't get his message out to black people is bull. Plenty of black people voted for Bernie Sanders. More people in general seem to have voted for Hillary Clinton.

So who's going to be the VP noms? Think Trump goes for Christie, no idea who Hilldawg goes for. Would be epic to snag Warren to appease Sanders fans.

Hillary won the black vote by a large margin

Polls show it wasn't plenty. As much as Bernie tried. Black people LOVE Hillary. She can do no wrong.

You're just rambling off talking points. Trump is the one that dominated the media coverage, not Hillary.

You can go read her platform and read Bernie's and see the similarities. Hillary is farrrrrrr from a Republican.

Better yet, let this show you how much you're allowing your anger to warp your view of reality:

https://www.isidewith.com/

Million more people voted for Hillary over Bernie. She was much more popular with minority groups. If you want to blame these people for being blind because they don't agree with you, then go ahead. But no one has to entertain that steez, because it is ********.

There were legit reasons for someone to pick Hillary over Bernie. No matter how many red herrings you want to throw around, that doesn't change

Bernie didn't win because Bernie couldn't make enough people connect with his message. That's it

Let's clear a few things up here, since you have a history of never admitting when you're wrong.

I wasn't "rambling" off any talking points; I was stating facts. The media froze out Bernie period, there is no debating that fact.

Hillary's platform was not even close to Bernie's when the primary started. She switched things up to cater to his supporters. Let's use the $12 an hour vs $15 an hour debate where she came out looking like a bafoon and then tried to claim she was always in support of $15 an hour min wage. That's just one small sample too.

She's a supporter of Big Oil, Big Pharma and is a Hawk. Explain to me how just those 3 things don't make her a wolf in sheeps clothing? She has all the qualities of a Republican with the exception of her stance on guns and healthcare.

I'm not angry by any means, so you can kill that noise with the quickness. Anytime someone disagrees with your opinion, doesn't constitute being angry.

Legit reason to pick Hillary? You are delusional my man. She's a household name that the media was behind. Her opponent receive little to no coverage during the Primaries. Her track record isn't something to be proud of either.

Explain just how the people where expected to resonate with Sanders message when the message was snuffed out? Notice how his numbers started skyrocketing and he started winning states once she debated him. That was the only time the nation received real Sanders face time. You and I both know most voters aren't glued to social media or shows like Meet the Press. Nightly news only really discussed Trump's daily shenanigans and what Clinton was doing.

Bernie didn't win because the media made sure his message wasn't being broadcasted nightly. Anyone who knows the masses rely on the media for all of the information would know that the odds were stacked against Sanders because of this. Despite the freeze out, his performance was very impressive.

I never expected him to win though, are system isn't capable of letting his ideas come to fruition. The people in power would never let that happen, as we have all witnessed.

I know Hillary is your candidate and you seem to be pretty optimistic that she'll defeat Trump come November. While she is a better choice than Trump, she still a ****** choice in my book.

This was mad late after all the hemming and hawing about BLM,

and when you read the out reach his campaign tried with black people it was clumsy and ill convinced.

I like Killer Mike but let's be honest, who is more likely to know who Killer mike or Run The Jewels is....

an average Black person, or a white hipster? :lol

This reads like you copied and pasted stuff from Bernie Sanders reddit page.

When I have time to tonight, I be happy to break down how much bull **** this is.

I'm pretty sick of this characterization of the black voters.

Black voters are notoriously pragmatic and risk averse. (as they should be)

They aren't casting votes for long shots.

Hillary Clinton was tied with Barack Obama in January 08 in the black vote polling, black people didn't just jump aboard.

So this white dude from Vermont appears out of the ether promising political revolution in a poilitcal system thats BUILT to prevent that from happening, and black people are just supposed to sign on to that? Why? :lol
