You know who killed Romney tonight? The moderator when she mentioned Romney's lies regarding Libya.

Good performance by the President.

Also, Romney could have saved himself the uppercut had he not blamed Obama's campaign for his 47% **** up. They didn't make up the 47% thing, Romney was caught on tape saying it. It wasn't the administration twisting his words. It was how he truly feels about that 47%. No one is painting Romney any different than he has painted himself.
That's not true. He did say those 47% are reliant on government and think of themselves as victims, but it was clear he was talking about campaign strategy when he said he doesn't need to worry about them, yet it's been painted as him saying he doesn't care about the 47%. They use that truncated sound byte in attack ads and push the "rich guy who doesn't care about poor people" narrative.
You cannot be serious.
What's not serious...? I'm not saying anything controversial.

thanks Future

like I said I don't really keep up with politics but the fact that someone like Romney even has/had a chance to be Prez tells me that something is seriously ******

I'm guessing a lot of women are now going to be binders for Halloween.

This. Changes. Everything.

Hey_

I really don't understand how undecideds could still be undecided at THIS point.

And this "myth" about Romney being a job creator HAS to die.

He was 47th in job creation during his time as Governor.

And how are these undecideds not concerned with HOW he made his wealth?

Outsourcing American jobs...DOES THIS NOT REGISTER WITH THESE PEOPLE?!

I was waiting for Obama to say the 47th in job creation thing too... But he did bring home the outsourcing part...

As to your central question see George Carlin: “Just think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of them are even stupider!”

It's funny/sad that that binder comment is going to get more attention than the debate itself.

Sometimes we as a people need to take matters into our own hands and actually educate ourselves on "why/how/what" (I'm sick of people basing their OWN opinions on political adds, what their favorite artist says, what the current "movement" is, and outside opinions).

Instead of browsing NT/youtube/the damn internet for hours, cut an hour out of that to actually research what the hell you're voting on before you mark that box; make sure you know what the hell you're voting for.

And for those of you who think voting doesn't matter in the slightest...why are you in this thread?

I don't know the media keeps treating undecided voters like their special.

If you don't know who the hell you're gonna vote for with three weeks to go, you're an idiot.

There. I said it. :lol

Yea but sadly they decide who wins

Add to this the fact that he wants to have more trade agreements with Latin America while "getting tough on China." How's that gonna change the fact that wages of workers from less developed nations are more competitive than what's paid here, and how's that going to protect the American jobs Romney claims he wants to create?

Caca is spilling out of Romney's mouth right now

The absolute strangest part of tonight's debate was Romney literally making up his plan for deductions on the spot:

And so, in terms of bringing down deductions, one way of doing
that would be say everybody gets - I'll pick a number - $25,000 of
deductions and credits, and you can decide which ones to use. Your
home mortgage interest deduction, charity, child tax credit, and so
forth, you can use those as part of filling that bucket, if you will,
of deductions.

None of this, of course, will solve the deficit.

In the event that Romney is elected, I really hope that the American public holds him to the insane promises-- that contradict his platform, no less-- he is continually making during these debates. It's like he forgets he's in an election during the debates, and just does whatever he can to trump the President's last response. I believe The Clipse might refer to him as "Mr. Me Too."

You hit the nail on the head with that statement.

At the end of the day it comes down to who will screw you less.I mean looking back Obama hasn't been the best financial President we have had. But there are some great things he has done, and do not forget what he had to go behind and clean. Some of the main things he is being criticized is things he cannot control, or things the republican controlled house forced into affect.

One the candidates on that stage will sell his soul to win, and has shown himself to be a pathological liar. If elected be prepared for nothing he said to be done, and a possible a president worse than Mr. Bush. I am scared for the countries direction if he wins, and if you thought North Korea, Iran, and other countries were to be worried about before. You have not seen anything.

And of course.. The story about the binder full of women.... Romney lied about a major detail of the story

Mind The Binder

Hey, I know about that binder! And guess what -- Mitt Romney was lying about it.

From the rush transcript:

CROWLEY: Governor Romney, pay equity for women?

ROMNEY: Thank you. An important topic, and one which I learned a great deal about, particularly as I was serving as governor of my state, because I had the chance to pull together a cabinet and all the applicants seemed to be men.

And I -- and I went to my staff, and I said, "How come all the people for these jobs are -- are all men." They said, "Well, these are the people that have the qualifications." And I said, "Well, gosh, can't we -- can't we find some -- some women that are also qualified?"

And -- and so we -- we took a concerted effort to go out and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet.

I went to a number of women's groups and said, "Can you help us find folks," and they brought us whole binders full of women.

I was proud of the fact that after I staffed my Cabinet and my senior staff, that the University of New York in Albany did a survey of all 50 states, and concluded that mine had more women in senior leadership positions than any other state in America.
Now one of the reasons I was able to get so many good women to be part of that team was because of our recruiting effort.

Not a true story.

What actually happened was that in 2002 -- prior to the election, not even knowing yet whether it would be a Republican or Democratic administration -- a bipartisan group of women in Massachusetts formed MassGAP to address the problem of few women in senior leadership positions in state government. There were more than 40 organizations involved with the Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus (also bipartisan) as the lead sponsor.

They did the research and put together the binder full of women qualified for all the different cabinet positions, agency heads, and authorities and commissions. They presented this binder to Governor Romney when he was elected.

I have written about this before, in various contexts; tonight I've checked with several people directly involved in the MassGAP effort who confirm that this history as I've just presented it is correct -- and that Romney's claim tonight, that he asked for such a study, is false.

I will write more about this later, but for tonight let me just make a few quick additional points. First of all, according to MassGAP and MWPC, Romney did appoint 14 women out of his first 33 senior-level appointments, which is a reasonably impressive 42 percent. However, as I have reported before, those were almost all to head departments and agencies that he didn't care about -- and in some cases, that he quite specifically wanted to not really do anything. None of the senior positions Romney cared about -- budget, business development, etc. -- went to women.

Secondly, a UMass-Boston study found that the percentage of senior-level appointed positions held by women actually declined throughout the Romney administration, from 30.0% prior to his taking office, to 29.7% in July 2004, to 27.6% near the end of his term in November 2006. (It then began rapidly rising when Deval Patrick took office.)

Third, note that in Romney's story as he tells it, this man who had led and consulted for businesses for 25 years didn't know any qualified women, or know where to find any qualified women. So what does that say?

There really is no ******g shame in this guy
