***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Actually, generally, that is not the case.

But, I don’t think Thomas was arrested. Unless I missed that part.
He wasn't, but I was not the one that brought up that silly comparison

You were

I am just pointing out how flawed it is.

I'll assume you ignored the rest of my post because you have no answer for it.

Not flawed. An arrest, unlike a conviction, is more like an accusation. The fact that can’t generally be used to preclude someone from getting a job is significant.

To pretend like it is okay to use an accusation, without even an arrest, to do so is what’s silly.

To act like the presumption of innocence is problematic is also silly.

But yes your hypo is possible.

Ok, good for her.

You you brought up Anita Hill. I didn't say **** about Alice Johnson

You you are just throwing her name out there for what? One black woman cancels out the other.

To show the contrast in the voting considering the treatment by the different candidates towards the women.

If an apology for decades of actions impacting black families across America by an elected official is good enough for you, then cool.

Do you think Biden, through legislation, has done less harm to black families than Trump? Seriously?

And sorry spose to erase what he’s done?
Do you think Biden, through legislation, has done more harm?
?

Famb, you are just throwing **** all the wall now.

I point out the flaw in your comparison. The comparison still doesn't work, because a Senate confirmation hearing is not like a regular job interview either. Fedex doesn't call the person making the accusation to hear both sides. There was reason to disqualify him after the testimony, not just before.

And again, you are focusing on this to distract from the other parts of my post. Here I pointed out that presumption of innocence is a rebuttable presumption in a criminal case, with a confirmation hearing is not. And I provided a reason where Senators could use the testimony to disqualify Thomas.

You are just trying to drag this out to reach a 'agree to disagree' point so people will not notice you are talking *******.

Spare me.

Tons of woman that have positive experiences with him are also said they are voting for Biden.

Most women are gonna vote for Biden, most black women are gonna vote for Biden

You brought up Hill, so me speaking on her views on Biden are relevant.

Trump has been way more sexist than Biden. Biden support much more progressive policy in regards to women's right.

So I still don't see your point

You just using Johnson as a cheap comeback. She had nothing to do with the discussion

Yes, on the crime bill alone.

As Booker has said, he was an architect of modern mass incarceration that disproportionately impacts black people.
Who did Booker endorse for President?

Who did Booker say has better policy in criminal justice reform?

Who does Booker say is better on helping the black community"

Who does Booker call a racist?

Who is the person that fear mongers with dog whistle racism that Booker will ruin the suburbs?

Since you value Booker's opinions, answer those.

So I’m supposed to believe a black man would excuse 50 years of history for a white old man putting his signature on something

1. Because Trump has never served in Congress.

2. Because Biden authored the Crime Bill.

3. And Trump signed the First Step Act into law.

As if mass incarceration began with the crime bill. Dramatic increase in incarceration a product of politics and economics at the state level.

You simpletons love a one-liner, huh?

Also don’t forget! Got more white republican judges placed in office as well!

Oh, interesting. So you do understand how to make comparisons. It’s kinda weird that you forget how to do this when you’re asked to compare Trump’s “meaningful legislation” to the ways in which he harms the black community.

Is the US gov monitoring NikeTalk or something?
there was some talk about that in the gun thread
seeing how that was one of the threads
in the whole site that wasnt secure
meth gave a PLAUSIBLE explanation for it though
but it just seemed too convenient
and he replied almost immediately when he was @ about it
so........

It would not surprise me one bit if this place were indeed being watched. Considering the content, then SEC laws, I am sure that they have to be careful as to what sort of info can be released and discussed here. For example, when Adidas bought Reebok back in the day, any inside info of the deal being shown before it took place, would have been a fed crime. I would also think that nike would be concerned about certain info being discussed here also.
