The only way this would have mattered is if Harris completely bombed, committed to policies Biden doesn't support, and the GOP could use the sound bit to spam the airways

I don't get into political debates on here, but I recall the epic VP debate between Cheney and Edwards in 2004. They were throwing haymakers at each other. Kerry vs. GWB was whatever, but that VP debate was something else. I recall being exhausted at the end just watching it. Pence blows hippo flop, but the party would be better off with him in charge because he's actually coherent.
