With election day now finally upon us, I trust that the actions of everyone here will remain well-aligned with our respective values.

In that spirit:

If I could have just one wish for this election season, it would be for all Americans, including those who look like me, to finally share in the rich bounty of this great nation as true equals without bigotry or prejudice.

If I could have two wishes for this election season, the first would be for all Americans to finally share in the rich bounty of this great nation as true equals without bigotry or prejudice... and the second would be for a petty five figure tax break, so that I might finally live out my HGTV fantasy of owning a rental property in a working class neighborhood.

You know, if I had three wishes for this election season, first, of course, would be for Americans to share the nation's bounty as true equals, the second would be for the tax cuts I could use on a rental property, and the third would be for all-encompassing power over women's bodies, as God intended.

And if I had four wishes that I could make this election season, first would be the crap about equality, second would be the tax break, third would be for power over women's bodily autonomy, and the fourth would be the complete and total abrogation of all business regulations. If I want to hire a workforce that looks like Mike Pence in a hall of mirrors or irradiate any aquifer within drainage distance of my razor-fenced private property, that's my God-given right as an American.

Wait a minute, maybe the regulations thing should be the first wish! When you really think about it, without free markets there's really no freedom at all. How can I safely park my rental income in a private equity fund if every two years these nettlesome elections threaten to introduce new regulations that could undermine everything my future tenants will have worked so hard for? Markets demand certainty. I'd feel a lot more free if we just made Trump emperor.

No, no... ending bigotry and prejudice would be great. That would be nice. But, who am I kidding?! They're never going to be able to get any meaningful legislation passed as long as people like me keep Republicans in control of the Senate. Besides, prejudice is just human nature! Look at me: I'm doing fine, so how bad could it really be, anyway? Better to just do away with affirmative action entirely so nobody suspects I'm the “diversity hire” at a firm with all White partners. That's really the only prejudice I care about anyway: the soft bigotry of being implicitly associated with poor people when I'm so clearly superior. The boss tells me that one day I might even make partner!

So, we reorganize. Here we go: first, Emperor Trump abolishes all regulations. Let's go with that. Second, the tax break. No! We go with power over women's bodies! Jesus would want us to keep those uppity women in their place – for the children. Oh, wait! I forgot about owning the libs!! Okay, owning all the liberals: I want to see those snowflakes melt like the polar ice caps! That would be the fourth wish! And, of course, my fifth wish would be for all Americans, including those who look like me, to finally share in the rich bounty of this great nation as true equals without bigotry or prejudice.

Thank you, everybody.

My biggest concern for tomorrow night is post election, not so much the actual election. Obviously I'd be sick seeing Trump win but I worry if he loses, those MAGA morons will incite violence on minority Groups and cops in those areas have already proven thus far that they treat them much differently than rioters of color.

And if trump wins, there's gonna be a lot of people who will protest the idea of dealing with this division for another 4 years and the cops have also shown they will not hesitate to assault American citizens. I'm just praying for this country regardless of outcome.

It has been an absolute pleasure laughing through the pain with your dudes for the last four years.

While stressful, disheartening, heartbreaking, and frustrating, this thread was always a bright spot.

I have spent way too much time worrying about this stuff, spent way too much money supporting whatever cause I could. But looking back I feel every penny was well spent, every bit of worry was justified.

Whatever happens tomorrow, the fight for justice won't end. The fight for equality won't end. The fight to make this world truly livable for everyone that inhabits it won't end.

I'm truly terrified, but hopefully, folk show up tomorrow and make things just a tad bit better. And make future fights a tad bit more winnable

Imagine Lil Pump speaking at a rally on the eve of a Presidential election. I want off this ride. PLEASE VOTE BLUE, MY NT BRETHREN.

you know it.

the way I see it the time for talk is over, we´re living in a history book now. people need to be in the streets to secure this thing and I could never ask anyone to do something I would not do myself...so here we go, cousin.

Respect brotha. I feel that. I almost headed that way to be away from the inevitable madness tomorrow, but thought better of it. These are historical times, indeed.
