How does Collins keep winning? Such obvious two-facedness and ploys to make it seem like she's bipartisan....yet Mainers keep voting her in. Tf?
Yeah she baffles me, wishy washy and gets nothing done, at least the others lean in to their talking point.

1. I'm well aware that a significant number of Hispanics identify as white.

2. They are pretty devastating points actually.

The last two democratic candidates have leaned heavily on Trumps racism as a conduit for his unfitness for office. it seems to have done nothing to blunt his appeal to latino voters, and he may have done better with black voters.

many democrats have been talking this "demographics are destiny" stuff, "changing demographics" will deliver them texas ect ect, if the some of the results are to be believed this is not the case.

this is massive repudiation of a common democratic party talking point.

Nah you either don't fully understand the issue or you're deliberately strippinng it off all complexity to suit your needs.

Most people lean heavily on Trump's racism as a conduit for his unfitness because it's repulsive. The purpose of rebuking overt racism isn't explicitly to garner the latino votes. It's silly to think that.

You're intentionally looking at this in a vacuum to make an argument.

If you want to lock onto one Democratic talking in point, in this case demographic shifts being viewed as a net positive in helping the party achieve it's goals, and reject that by saying "hey look at Texas, it's not blue yet suckers!", then that's just ridiculously selective and strips away all nuance.

Whites + Latinos definitely. And a proportion of Black males feeling alienated, disaffected or simply ignored. That doesn’t speak to the Black vote overall though. Black people are clear on feelings of Trump being racist.

Both of these takes are why I’m okay with these results. This is going to force the Dems to do more to directly address black issues.

A landslide or senate flip probably wouldn’t have done that. Real discussions need to be had on how Democrats plan to move forward and address these issues.

Y’all fail to realize.

there is so much money in right wing grifting

they have networks dedicated to this stuff.

corporations love it cause it spreads there capitalist propaganda and makes people focus on identity politics why they rob them blind and call economics.

how much do people make being a progressive Democrats

I mean look on twitter most blue check right wing blow horns are pushing a book or YouTube in their bios.

especially the black blue checks on twitter they stay pushing a book.

in short republicans have an army of blow horns and allow people and their communities to stay in that bubbles. Dems don’t in fact we spend a lot of time in fighting.

like we have progressives, centrist, corporate democratics

republicans have republicans and accept all as long as they Republicans.

dems are becoming the crab in a bucket party.

So say Biden wins. Who's the GOP candidate in 2024? Trump ca re-run right?

trump can run again.. but he has legal and financial problems coming if he isn’t in office

then 2022 who knows what strategy republicans take with trump not being president and how people treat those who try to follow him.. and who in the party want to take their shot so their back to attacking trump if he can make another go at it

You're an actual idiot. Look at the people that are getting seats in the senate. They elected a 25 year old racist.

what am i missing by not living in america?
I dunno, that state party activities differ that the National Party. And on the state level, the Dem's pitch to voters is almost heavily based on economic issues.

That being Latino doesn't mean someone can fall for the same racist messaging as a white person does. Especially given the racial diversity and identities within the group.

Like if you poll Americans on if they think racism is bad, they will overwhelmingly say yes. Yet they will consider dog whistles, racist politics, and racist rhetoric racist because the lines of what is and isn't racist are not uniform among groups.

Like do you even realize that your pushback on that the suggestion of the suggestion that this is a win based on race above all else is: a) A minorities did it (which implies minorities can't fall for racist messaging and internalized it), b) Some people don't consider racist acts racist (yeah, no ****), c) Ignoring Trump's rhetoric

You in here playing reactionary leftist when the pertinent thing would do is wait to make such a sweeping conclusion.

Why is that so difficult to do?

Hopefully after last night Republicans will stop being so god damn ridiculous about making it harder to vote for people. It's pretty clear that when there is massive voter turnout it is pretty favorable to their party.
