Here is something that must change in terms of data, identity, or a possible census......
Hispanics needs to stop being categorized as “Hispanic/Latino”. We all need clearer definitions.
For example you can have an Hispanic person in America who is Mexican-American, they think completely different to a Cuban-American.
You can have a Spanish-American from Europe who is classified as Hispanic but not Latino since they’re of European decent.
What do Brazilians checkmark? They’re Latino but not Hispanic.
It doesn’t make any sense. The “Hispanic” category needs to be clearer. It would help pollsters, the government, and identity crisis around America.
