It may seem like that in 2020, but if you go learn why we have the electoral in the first place it made sense at that time.

ehhhh.....You’re kidding yourself if you think slavery, 3/5ths compromise and white supremacy weren’t heavy, driving factors of the electoral college.

You’re mostly right. Minus calling my outrage fake.

If Trump squeaks out a win, then I will support him pushing to get pro-black legislation through a GOP-led senate that may have blocked the same measures under a Biden presidency.

If he loses, then I’d want the senate flipped so Biden can get the same legislation passed.

The objective is the same either way.

"if trump squeaks out a win". trump squeaking out a win, at this juncture, would appear only likely in the event his administration succeeds in suppressing votes by challenging and tossing ballots. you concede you'll revert your support to him anyways because he will push pro-black legislation through a GOP-led senate that may have blocked the same measures under a Biden presidency. you're against voter suppression but will accept it if it nets you results you want. your opposition to voter suppression is conditional at best, and this is why we call your outrage fake.

based on everything you've said and applying your logic, hypothetically, if trump challenges and succeeds in tossing out ballots, wins reelection, but the senate were to flip to narrow democratic control, you would likely to support flipping the senate back red (despite their voter suppression efforts) on the basis that even though dems could pass legislation through the house and senate, they wouldn't have the 2/3 majority in each chamber necessary to override a veto. unless for some reason you think trump will out of the kindness of his heart now start approving democratic legislation.

you're betting on getting watered down versions of pro-black legislation now in the short term at the expense of those pushing for long-term pro-black legislation reform for future generations. your vote now to get 10% of something on the basis of it being better than 10% of nothing is will come at the expense of your own grandchildren's efforts to get 100% of something better. you're like a worse version of littlefinger

If Biden wins will people still be pushing to reform or abolish the electoral vote like they were 4 years ago?
Yes. This should be over already. Biden is up millions of votes overall.

the electoral college isn't going anywhere. its authority is granted by the constitution. to amend the constitution, you need 2/3 of the house and 2/3 of the senate to approve an amendment and then 3/4 of the states ( 38 ) to affirm the proposed amendment.

Again, you’re almost right. But I wouldn’t oppose a democratic senate with Trump, if he were to somehow squeak out a win because it would produce the same result: getting pro-black legislation passed.

In fact, this even cures the watered-down issue that so many have expressed.

But let’s be real. If Trump squeaks out a win, and the Dems flip the senate, he will be removed from office.

But Biden is going to win. So flipping the senate is the priority.
