***Official Political Discussion Thread***

This is sad and corny at the same damn time:

Every time I dealt with people in Banks' close circle, my impression was that group consisted of giant *******s obsessed with flexing.
Like fam, why are you bragging to me about your money and sending me moneyphone pics in a private discussion about buying a social media username or gamertag. Just shut up and pay up.

Bless your heart.
I don't think he's entirely wrong, intent is tough to deal with in general, especially when the defendant has a lot of supporters and is rich and white.

I'm inclined to agree that Trump seems to actually believe he won the election but I also think delusion doesn't necessarily negate criminal intent.

He may genuinely believe he won the election, but that does not change the fact that he demanded that Raffensperger "finds" a very specific number of votes, just one more than the margin he lost by. I think that's the smoking gun for any genuine criminal intent questions.

Nothing wrong with feeling how you lost. But this is just top tier Sore-Loser ****. To the point where he's mocking our democracy lol

If anything, the delusion argument only makes that 11780 vote demand worse for Trump. If the argument is that he genuinely believes his own claims that he won Georgia by "hundreds of thousands of votes" and/or that Raffensperger is knowingly sitting on evidence that proves many tens of thousands of fraudulent votes, that would also mean he irrefutably knows he's soliciting electoral fraud by demanding just 11780 from Raffensperger, exactly 1 more vote than Biden's margin.

This is really the best smoking gun argument.

But the response would likely be that 11780 is just an arbitrary number to signify that he had the amount of votes to win. And if he really (even wrongfully) believes he's won, it's tough to get that criminal intent. I was a bit shocked that he seemed to actually believe he won on those tapes. I figured, at this point, he was simply dragging this along to get donations for a possible 2024 run.

Based on all that has happened with Trump, I really doubt THIS is going to be the criminal case anyone pursues seriously.

I'm past thinking Trump thinks he really won this election. He knows he lost. All this is an attempt to avoid dealing with whatever he thinks is waiting for him without the power of being in the highest office in the world.

If he's not locked up, has fled the country, or dead, I wouldn't put it past him.
I feel like he would still run in all these scenarios

Instead of the mindless circle jerk of curated (((memes))) going on by biased social pages and (((sources))) meant to shape and change your perception - let me post this proposed bill to the senate off an official gov't website.

What do you think "learning" is? There's nothing wrong with shaping and changing ones perception IF the ideas and concepts underlying those changes are sound, observable, and verifiable. Intellectual growth requires the periodic questioning of one's assumptions, beliefs, and truisms.

Anyway...

UPON DETERMINING BY CLEAR AND CONVINCING EVIDENCE THAT THE HEALTH
OF OTHERS IS OR MAY BE ENDANGERED BY A CASE, CONTACT OR CARRIER, OR
SUSPECTED CASE, CONTACT OR CARRIER OF A CONTAGIOUS DISEASE THAT, IN THE
OPINION OF THE GOVERNOR, AFTER CONSULTATION WITH THE COMMISSIONER, MAY
POSE AN IMMINENT AND SIGNIFICANT THREAT TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH RESULTING
IN SEVERE MORBIDITY OR HIGH MORTALITY, THE GOVERNOR OR HIS OR HER DELE-
GEE, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE COMMISSIONER OR THE HEADS OF
LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENTS, MAY ORDER THE REMOVAL AND/OR DETENTION OF SUCH
A PERSON OR OF A GROUP OF SUCH PERSONS BY ISSUING A SINGLE ORDER, IDEN-
TIFYING SUCH PERSONS EITHER BY NAME OR BY A REASONABLY SPECIFIC
DESCRIPTION OF THE INDIVIDUALS OR GROUP BEING DETAINED. SUCH PERSON OR
GROUP OF PERSONS SHALL BE DETAINED IN A MEDICAL FACILITY OR OTHER APPRO-
PRIATE FACILITY OR PREMISES DESIGNATED BY THE GOVERNOR OR HIS OR HER
DELEGEE AND COMPLYING WITH SUBDIVISION FIVE OF THIS SECTION.

In other words, this is a bill that would give the governor the legal ability to quarantine contagious people or groups of people to avoid the spread of highly communicable diseases. Furthermore, the same bill includes conditions that restrict the application of quarantine orders to those cases where people have been proven to carry said disease; IOW, the governor needs to prove that those targeted by the order have been contaminated and are able to transmit the disease.

I don't see what's wrong with this considering that there are some people who are adamant about using their freedom to be sick in order to impede on other people's freedom to not be sick.

I don't get how people just been smooth accepting this wildly illegal behavior which frankly would sink any other President. Caught on record asking officials to change votes? That's nuts.
Messaging is everything.

Nixon didn't have Fox News or NewsMax to feed the masses the "republican perspective" (aka lies) at the time.
