I think most modern PLC is click to "code". I don't think the skillset transfers to general purpose development. I'm not sure you really need to know how to spell.

I got your point. I was trying to thread a thin line; I don’t want to offend any PLC programmers around.

But as someone who’s professionally been in or around software engineering for a quarter century, who has hired dozens of engineers, and who has managed hundreds of developers through the years, I would push back on describing him as a software engineer or describe his job as coding. I would bet good money that he wouldn’t get through my first round phone screen which focuses on basic skills independent of language.

Anyways, no matter what he does for a living, he’s a racist idiot and already has wasted more of our collective thought than he’d ever deserve.
