Must be purdy’s fault
Of course it is. If Kyle trusted him more, then more players would be open...am I right req81 req81 ?

But I don't think it's a speed problem more than it being a scheme problem. The Bengals have Chase and Higgens and they are number 3. Teams have caught on to Kyle's scheme and he needs to be the offensive "genius" everyone claims he is and make the appropriate adjustments.

Yall make up silly stats. We can go off eye test. There are at least 20 QBs I would rather start a franchise with right now
Make up stats?
None of us have control on the NFL stat records.
Name the 20...by your standards, i hope they've all won a superbowl

Mahomes is the only one who won a superbowl though. Burrow and Goff are the only other 2 to play in a superbowl. Goff also just threw 5 ints in a single game. Kyler killed your whole argument lol
Now how many of the players you listed have better overall stats than Purdy this season or even last season? Also, please continue your list...

i recall Papa or Maiocco saying on the 49ers talk pod that Purdy is top 3 in tight window throw accuracy.. however, that it’s not a good sign that he’s constantly having to throw into coverage as it means receiver aren’t getting separation.

It’s almost as if having receivers who excelled at yac and getting that separation was a good thing all these years lol. It was hilarious seeing these sports media talking heads say the qb was only good because he had receivers who could get separation and get all types of yac. He’s making it work when they aren’t. Which is a good long term sign that things can and will open up once receivers are able to get that separation.

people have figured out this scheme. if you bring the pressure the hot throw is is usually not an easy one to make. that’s why purdy needs to be able to change up at the line. if he sees a defender coming he should be able to call something going to the open man, not wait for the original play to develop and try to hit the hot route.

it worked for a good while, but it’s time for kyle evolve the offense

This is where behind the scenes Jed and John Lynch need to have those conversations with Kyle Shanahan about needing to evolve. And how willing he is to evolve and make those changes should ultimately play a big part in determining how long he remains the head coach of the team beyond this season.

If he basically tells them to kick rocks and to not tell him how to coach the team. Then you have a problem. If he’s receptive and willing to make the necessary changes and privately acknowledge his shortcomings. Then they have a legit chance to run this back a few more times.

But when the idea of firing Shanahan and replacing him with the current flavor of the month coordinator comes up. I think back to how Norv Turner was once that flavor of the month guy. Nathaniel Hackett was once that hot sought after guy, that McAdoo dude who coached the Giants a while back was once a hot commodity. Shanahan deserves the criticism and it comes with the job. But the idea that they could fire him tomorrow and hire the hottest coordinator or college guy and they’ll magically improve is kinda far fetched to me as well.

Dude said he could name 20 QB’s he’d take over Purdy but could only name 10 🤣

I suppose he didn’t want to get slandered for life by naming Jimmy G, Trey Lance, Trevor Lawrence, 50-year old Aaron Rodgers, 50-year old Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, Deshaun Watson, Gardner Minshew, Derek Carr, Anthony Richardson, and Dak Prescott as his other 10 that he’d start a franchise with over Purdy.

All those rankings are cute. But the reality is Brock Purdy is going to get that bag in the offseason. He deserves it and if the 49ers are smart, they’ll get it done as soon as they can because prices aren’t going to get any lower.

Unless we’re holding Purdy to one set of standards and everyone else to a completely different criteria. He’s passed all the tests and has more than held his own when key guys have missed games. The team has flaws and problems, but the qb position isn’t one of them.

we needed a DE going into the deadline and got nothing. It doesnt help that our linebackers arent doing well. No one can tackle, campbell looks old.

No explosive plays, no yards after catch, poor offensive line play and cant score in the endzone, meaning this offense is looking archaic.

All these have progressively gotten worse throughout the season.

For those who support Shanahan not being fired if the 49ers miss the playoffs….. take a sheet of paper, draw a line down the middle, write “pros” on the left and “cons” on the right, and list down everything you can think of about Kyle, his leadership, and his coaching abilities as a head coach.

Let’s see if you can come up with more pros than cons and then ask yourself if you think another 4 years of Kyle is something where you see a Super Bowl win or if a sold coaching candidate becomes available next year do you pass on him in favor of keeping Kyle

I wouldn’t consider firing Shanahan right now unless it became blatantly obvious he lost the locker room and guys quit on him. Unless the circumstance I just mentioned happens, he deserves the benefit of the doubt with a down year. But if they keep trending downward in 2025, it’s a different ballgame next year.

Talking with him behind closed doors about his visible flaws and what can be done to fix them is a reasonable conversation and should be had. Again if he’ gets defensive and dismissive of making changes. At that point it’s more of a mutual parting of ways.

Now his leash, or any coach for that matter, their leash gets shorter if there’s a legit proven hot commodity on the market head coaching wise who views your team as an attractive destination. But I’m not seeing that. Maybe Belichek if he’s willing to concede the control he’s used to having. But even with that you’re likely only getting 2-3 seasons tops out of him. And his track record without Tom Brady is very visible.
