It just depends on what type of person you are:
some people are one and done with the story line. The truth is that this GTA's single player isnt as fun in the long run in comparison to San Andreas.Since they went towards realism, it gets boring.
on the other hand:
I like keeping certain games for future replayability. If my friends ask "wanna play GTA multiplayer?" I can participate.
I say you rent it. If you end up liking it enough that you can see yourself playing it over or playing multiplayer, buy it.

For me it's rent, I ened up trading in the game for store credit after I beat the game.

Buy because it is an intensely large game with plenty to uncover, plus they will be a ton of dlc coming soon. It would be a perfect 1st game for your 360.
