Something I'll just throw out tho, we all expect Kobe to try and recruit Melo into LA.

What I wonder is, if Bron declines us, and Melo doesn't even want to come play for us, and Kobe wants to be paid then big dollars, technically he's a free agent, maybe he goes to play at MSG with Melo.

His other option would be to stay with us and miss out on the key free agents, go thru another down year, won't have a draft pick in 2015 to look forward to, and we all know how much he loves playing at MSG.

So one way, or another, he could still play with Melo, just maybe not where everyone expects them to play together.

May not sound possible, but I never thought I'd see Paul Pierce play for Brooklyn. And have KG with him. Or Ray Allen wear a Heat jersey. Or Steve Nash wear a Laker uni. Etc.

Just throwin the idea out tho. Not sayin likely, just possible. If things continue to break wrong for us.

CP - maybe not Melo and NYK specifically, but I could see Kobe jumping to compete and there wouldn't be any hard feelings. Just that the Lakers are not close to competing so he'd have an excuse to leave.

The Knicks are tied up with Amare and Chandler contracts. I dont think they can offer both Melo and Kobe big dollars, but the Lakers can.

See but I don't think it would be just anywhere.

Staples is an event because of him. MSG is an event, period. Notice how he LOVES playing there, always has.

To play with Melo, have some other guys around, they could "compete" and battle in the East, not sure they'd have enough, but they'd have a punchers chance. And he'd get to be on stage 41 times + playoffs, just like in LA.

He doesn't get that in San An, or Indy, OKC, etc. They don't have the stages that MSG does.

I'm not sayin he's leavin for sure, but if I had to list teams, NYK is 2nd because of MSG, and Melo.

My point is if he can't get wins here in LA, and no help comes, he'll want the big payday from us. If we are smart, and say no, then he can walk and play for cheap.

If we get Lebron/Melo, I think he'd stay, and play cheap.

No Bron or Melo, he'll want to be paid to stay here and not win.

Make sense?

I can't see kobe play for another franchise
I'm delusional tho

I agree with your thought process, and am here for you if you need anything.

I have a shoulder for you to cry on, and when that one gets too damn, I have another shoulder to offer. Let me know.

Just saw LakersNation upload this on YT:

One of the most entertaining games from last season IMO. Hill was feeling it too in this game :lol :smokin
