Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Just introduced my wife to Odd Thomas last night and she loved it.

Now today I find out that they have found a company to take it over and it should release in theaters early next year. :hat

However, if any of you can't wait, it is out abroad, and subsequently, that means it's available online. If any of you do check it out, let me know what you think.

psk2310, how was Dallas Buyers Club? I'm hoping to see it this week, been eager for it for months.

I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but I found the movie kinda startling & the way McConaughey immersed himself in this role was very Oscar worthy. His career has been kinda way word but he always does a movie here & there that reaffirms what a gifted actor he can be.

The movie itself is a very telling & well told look at the aids epidemic in the 80s in Dallas Texas no less. A true indictment of our healthcare system... It's not something I would watch again, but I'm glad I watched it...

The average poster in this thread probably won't like this but if you're a true movie head, you should appreciate the film & the acting performances.

:lol @ Jared Leto... But his performance was great too. Possibly Oscar worthy...

Jennifer Lawrence is just beautiful, so he's insane for that one.

Anna Kendrick I could see the argument "I don't get the appeal", sure... but he blabbers on like she's disfigured or something. It's for attention at this point.

It's a good time for young females in Hollywood. :hat

Jeter's probably had all of these, twice. :o

So with Blockbuster ending their by mail service, I'm in the market for a new movie rental/streaming service. What do you guys think? I forgot that Netflix now charges $16 a month, but I know they don't have new releases available for a while.

The Redbox streaming service seems ok since it allows 4 free dvd rentals a month, but their selection isn't as vast as Netflix. I'm so conflicted!

Netflix is still the best service despite the price increase. They have some new releases available same day, but yeah, you have to wait for others.
