Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I'm not as huge of a fan as everyone else is of Jennifer, but she was gorgeous in SLP.

And personally, no one rocks that short hair better than Hathaway. Looks amazing on her. :hat

12 Years a Slave? Amazing.

Probably the best film of the year I've seen so far.

Awe-inspiring performances from beginning to end. And why is that? Chiwetel Ejiofor. Bravo sir, bravo.

I forgot of the great casting in this. I just remembered Ejiofor, Fassbender, and Pitt. Didn't know Giamatti, Dano, Cumberbatch, Alfre Woodard, etc were in this as well. :hat

I don't want to talk about it too much until we have some of you guys see it, but man... :hat

Oh and Lupita Nyong'o? Give her an Oscar now please. She was just as golden as Chiwetel was in this. Fassbender was good and all, but those two deserve Oscars. Absolutely solid performances all-around, but those two outshine the rest.

Without a doubt Nyong'o deserves the Oscar. Not really a spoiler, but at times her character definitely had 'watch-with-one-eye-covered-and-squint' scenes. Amazing performance.

I thought the film was chilling, and I likely see it winning the Oscar for Best Picture.

I wish Pines (Gosling & Cooper) was up for the nod, because that's easily been my favorite film of the year so far.

Just saw "End of Watch" and came away thoroughly impressed.

I really only watched it because it came up when I searched for Anna Kendrick, but wow, great story, loved the cinematography, and the acting was also excellent.

I really liked End of Watch, showed it to my bro and he said he didn't like it, reminded him of Crash. I really liked the ending because it played with your emotions like at the end it left me happy just thinking about the good times. Not to spoil it but you know what I mean if you've seen it

McQueen's style is very blunt & before seeing 12 years I was like :x @ the thought of how he was going to show slavery... Hunger & Shame were already kind of emotionally brutal...

I'm sorry for not mentioning Nyong'o, I concur... She should in the very least be nominated if not possibly a winner...

i seriously slept on this movie.. LOVED it when i finally saw it

End of Watch seemed to be polarizing in terms of how it was accepted. My sister-in-law and brother weren't as floored with it as a lot of people were. I have yet to see it myself, waiting for the right day. :lol

I caught it in theaters after positive reviews and loved it.

Wasn't a fan of the format, but it worked.

Also, caught Kings of Summer and loved it.

I'm a sucker for coming of age films and this one delivered. Biaggio was brilliant, the parents were great, the random cameos like Hannibal Burress "Some dude had a pager!!" :lol The soundtrack, etc.

I was impressed.

I think The Squid and The Whale is one of my all time favorites.

I just realized that I've watched it like 10 times.

Watched The Call last night and like the movie good for the most part. Was scratching my head a few times on Halle decisions in the movie.

About to figure which movie to watch out of Stand Up Guys, Road to Perdidtion,  or Assault on Wall Street

I'm thinking about giving Assault on Wall Street a shot today as well.

I watched Assault on Wall Street. Dude was taking L after L after L. I see why he decided to F stuff up. The movie had me rethinking my saving plan but also the movie started from the begin to have o boy do what he had to do towards end of the movie. The film was ok, was more impress with the view of NYC than the movie.

Place beyond the pines is my favorite movie of the year. Not too many potential best pictures that I've read about. The counselor supposedly is terrible. I need to see "slave" and blue jasmine

Thor TDW is probably my favorite of The Avengers films behind Iron Man and The Avengers. I might have liked it better. It was fun as hell.
