And its not like that I dislike Jenna Malone. She's a solid actress. But I think making Robin a girl is a little too non-traditional for me.

Snyder seems to be using Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns as a basis for his flick. In that graphic novel, Bats saves a 13 year old girl from mutants & then dons a Robin costume following him around. That might be my favorite comic of all time. Perfect combo of art & story.

Just came back from FURY.

What a film! Best war film I've seen to date.

Gripping, Haunting - Powerful. Logan Lerman is impressive, I just hope he can get away from this "boyish, skiddish" roles. Time to grow some facial hair and man up. The actors - Pitt, Pena, Bernethal and LaBeouf are outstanding, what a group, great core. It's rugged and very gorey but it feels true to form. Amazing details - and LaBeouf is so good. He plays a gunner who is a very religious man, and he is at the center of this religious undertone for the film. Now I'm not even slightly religious and hate when films are preachy - but the way they used religion inside of a tank in the middle of war is a beautiful thing. It was almost the backbone for the fight.

Can't recommend it strongly enough. Great film, bravo David Ayer.

i thought that it was a given he was using the dark knight returns story line. still need to read it.

That's actually the only graphic novel I've ever read. And it was awesome. I had forgotten about the Robin part though.

I'm a MASSIVE SAW series fan. 1 and 6 were my favorites. So I was giddy every year for a new one. I always had high hopes and 7 was a knife in the gut

I like pretty much all the Saw's too. 1-5 or 1-6, can't remember where I fell off, but I was actually impressed with how they brought the story around 2-5/6. They connected so many things, it was actually pretty smartly layered. *shrugs*

But I will say I'm anticipating Fury a bit more now.

Got a full boat with that, St. Vincent, when I get around to Boyhood, Foxcatcher, Birdman, and one or two others that slip my mind.

Fury was great, well acted character driven movie that doesnt sugarcoat anything or glorify war. i liked how there was no patriotic undertone, no "lets do it for freedom" or being a national hero. these guys were fighting to stay alive and to keep eachother alive and the bond they have because of this really carries the movie. of the core group of guys (pretty much 90% of the screen time is just the 5 main guys) everyone brought their A game in terms of acting. one of my biggest problems with movies is there will often be an ******* character who is just a jerk for seemingly no reason at all other than the plot requiring him to be this way, that doesnt happen in this movie. one of the guys is a huge **** but in the environment that he is in it's totally understandable for him to be the way that he is. my one complaint is that there are a few movie cliches that took me out of the movie for a bit but other than that i would give it a solid 8/10

while im at it might as well go through the rest of the movies ive seen this year

i would put it up there with other top war movies, it was a different take on a war movie

i liked the scale of it, while most war movies have big picture themes about winning the war or fighting for a cause this movie didnt have much of that at all. the entire world was just the tank and the five people in it

War movies are often too focused with sub plots or try to throw in elements not essential with the war itself. That's why Fury was successful, there was no fluff, the script was bare but tough. It felt like we really were watching 5 men in a tank trying to survive. Nothing more - which is not easy to do

Y'all know I'm not big on war movies but this Fury is sounding like a decent flick overall that doesn't glorify the violence and darkness. Might have to give it a view when it hits the tv.

saw xmen dofp in blu ray last night. it was great with all the hd visuals. my body is ready for apocalypse. let my dude gambit cook. i think mcavoy killed it. quick silver was dope.

Finally watched 22 Jump Street.

Very good movie, especially for a sequel.

All the inside jokes were appreciated.

Hopefully the 23 Jump Street is as good as the first two.
