Those are three of the best ones you're missing in Up, Incredibles, Wall-E... and Nemo is really good as well.

And I was getting ready to watch the Incredibles, but I caught the beginning of Armageddon and realized I hadn't seen the opening scene in years, I almost ended up watching it again. It's one of my random guilty pleasure stupid movies that I always end up watching when it's on.

:{ :lol....same here man...idk why, but I love watching Armageddon

It's just a good mindless action movie. It isn't like the Transformers-era Bay where you can't follow all the action or get dizzy with the effects.. granted, it's edited horribly and of course makes no sense, but you don't get motion sick watching it.

It's got a good cast and it's funny and despite that awful Aerosmith song, I still feel the slight tug at the end, despite how cheesy it is.

It's also kind of always on between FX or TNT or AMC, so you can catch bits and pieces here and there. A classic dumb cable action movie.

My dude how you never seen Bambi? :lol :{

I haven't watched a lot of animated films myself lately but damn. You aint watch classics when you were a kid. What were you watching as a child? The discovery channel?

There are soooo many good movies on that list.

Now that I think about it though....Disney movies are depressing. Someone is always dying

Time to bring this marathon to an end... I might fall asleep half way through, but starting up Wall-E now.

Watched Up, Ratatouille, and The Incredibles today

Or rather I had them on while I was on the computer and hung out today. I liked Ratatouille a lot more than I remember, it's just a really compete movie and doesn't give you as many of the emotional beats of some other Pixar movies, but that isn't a bad thing necessarily. It makes it a bit lighter than a movie like Up where I don't have to deal with a guy losing his best friend/wife in the 1st ten minutes. I know the emotional aspects drive so many of the great Pixar stories, but sometimes you just want something a little lighter. Plus I love the monologue about critics

Up was just as great. Love the colors, landscapes, imagery of nature in the movie. It was also a lot funnier than I remember. The thematic elements are just so amazing in that movie. The struggles of loss, the importance of continuing on, that the adventure is as important as the destination, etc. I always held it in high regard while it wasn't one of my favorites, but it's definitely moved up a spot or two for me.

The Incredibles is just a perfect superhero movie. It's really interesting to read how difficult it was to make this movie. The huge set design, CGI technology that wasn't quite there yet, all the effects required to make a movie involving a completely human cast, with all those locations, it was really impressed considering that movie was made over a decade ago. I think it's got one of the best casts next to Toy Story for a Pixar movie as well, the family, Frozone, even the villian is thought out and developed. "Giving up" your dreams for family, finding your happiness in life as you age, the responsibilities of parenthood.

And finally, Wall-E. What else can be said about this movie? I think the Toy Story series can sum up Pixar the best.. an everyday object or thing, looked at through a new lens to tell us more about life. What if your toys were alive, and through that we learn about friendship, childhood, growing up, so many damn things. It's everything you love about Pixar movies. Telling a human story in an unexpected way.. Monsters in your closet, a fish trying to get home, whatever.

But Wall-E might just be their masterpiece in filmmaking. The first act of the movie is essentially a silent movie featuring a garbage robot. But it's funny, clever, sweet, charming, and beautifully shot and designed and the importance of protecting our environment. The second act takes you to space, where we not only see a criticism of more society's materialism, over-indulgence, and laziness, but we also build the relationship between two very different "people" in Eve and Wall-E. And then you get the AI drama of the Auto Pilot, and all of it works. You end up caring about a ******* garbage robot, man... That's special. I love Wall-E.

I used to always prefer Monsters, Inc., I still might, but Wall-E is just the best.

^ yup.. Completely agree

Like I said before, main characters say little more than two words the whole movie.. Sidekick is a cockroach.. And you love every minute

Rewatched Fargo (the movie) last night. Its interesting after knowing people from Minnesota. All I can do now is laugh at all the quirks that all Minnesotans have

For everyone who might be on the fence in watching Mr Robot, please get on that immediately.

It's the surprise great show of the year. At first I figured it was the usual USA/cable summer show.. not actually good, but good enough to be entertaining while nothing else is on. But it's legitimately great TV. I binged all eight episodes in about two days and immediately wanted to rewatch it.

Give it a shot and you'll likely be hooked.

^
Do they show more of the hot, pregnant, Swedish wife who liked to get tied up and gagged?

Last episode I watched was when he was going through drug withdrawals. The show is good but hasn't caught my interest like it has everyone else.

Can't wait for Fargo to kick back off.

Yes. :hat

Really interested in whether Jesse Plemons will be able to sink or swim as a lead.

I notice some of this too, but Ken, the guy shoveling and girls in the bars don't exist in reality. Nobody says "Oh, you betcha, yeahhhhhh" but you will hear "Oh yeah, yup" all the time.

Screamed this in this thread more than a month ago - if you don't know, then you gotta know.

Did you have those kind of parents that only let you watch like an hour of TV a week or something?

I watched a lot of kids movies that weren't cartoons, like Indian In The Cupboard-type stuff, Jumanji, etc. I had Toy Story, Lion King, Little Mermaid, Aladdin and several of the other exceptions to my 'haven't seen' list in the roto and watched those... I can't even tell you how many times. A lot of Arthur, Scooby Doo, Rugrats, Zoboomafoo, Rocket Power, Reading Rainbow, Dragon Tales, Power Rangers, Recess, etc.

Then as I got older I began to transition into decade-old Saved By The Bell and Diff'rent Strokes episodes, etc.

I'm not too far off from JPZ, I don't watch animateds either. I've seen a couple, but very very limited.

I can rewatch Dark Knight 10000 times. Anytime it's on tv.
Any day.

If dark knight rises is ever on TV, I always go to the next channel. 0 interest in re watching minus a couple scenes with Bane. Movie was extremely disappointing for me I don't care what anyone says.

All the build up only for Catwoman's stunt double to ride a bike through a wall and shoot bane with some cheap cgi to kill him.

Insanely disappointing.

If only Heath stayed alive :(
