Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Some of us have none, and some of us have one, maybe two or three even.

For those of you who do have, what is your Perfect Film?

example: You guys know I listed Arrival as 8/8, I thought it was perfect, and have have very few of those.

I'm interested in hearing what some of you have as yours and why.

Got a couple:

The shining

Jaws

Pulp fiction

Godfather parts I & II

Goodfellas

Wall-e

shawshank

Leon

Saving private Ryan

The green mile

T2

The matrix

Braveheart

The wild bunch

Forest gump

Need to think about it some more

I kinda agree with Zik, who's been duckin and dodgin me since yesterday..... :nerd:

I don't care about or have "perfect" films. But I have a level of films that I just truly enjoy, no matter the flaws that may be, they're perfect to me, not anyone else.

The first Point Break. OG Star Wars trilogy. Matrix Reloaded. F&F 6, Casino, Rounders, Primal Fear, anything Tarantino, John Wick 1-2, Goodfellas, probably a few others I can't think of right now

There are films that are perfect because they are so influential that even the flaws have become encoded into the vocabulary of filming. Casablanca, Citizen Kaine ect.

but other than that, there are too many subjective factors for something to be perfect.

Listing or ranking a film is subjective though.

List what is Perfect to you, it doesn't have to be something a Film Critic, Professor or class would agree with.

Point break is perfect to me in every way, for what its worth. 8/8

It's all subjective but then by definition it's not perfect.

You can love a movie and ignore some of its flaws but acknowledging it has some makes it unqualified for the label of perfect.

I've never seen a movie that had no flaws at all..... yet. So to me I don't have a list of perfect films.

Children of men
Good bad and ugly
Empire stirkes back

I may be a creature of the moment but I've just seen Get Out again and i love the hell outta that movie its a new classic for me

My girl is about 25 lbs over weight according to her Dr.I think she's perfect. I doubt she's concerned with the True definition of perfect, she loves I think that and is glad it's subjective

I see perfection in a movie in terms of execution and completion of the story.. all the movies I named above, I look at those as without a doubt hitting those marks

For me, there's a difference between movies I really love and movies that I think are perfect.

Antwone Fisher and Silver Linings Playbook are two of my favorite movies of all time. I don't think they are anywhere close to perfect, though. Inglourious Basterds. Love it. Nowhere close to perfect. If I were going to whittle all of the movies I love down to which of them I honestly think are perfect, I think I'd start with:

- The Revenant
- Good Will Hunting
- As Good As It Gets
- Forrest Gump
- Gone Girl

Susan Sarandon is kind of killing it right now on the COlbert show.

Her face is pretty radiant and  tight for her age. She is still fine.

Exactly.. while I thoroughly enjoyed all the films I named.. I might have some other movies ahead of couple in terms of favorites

But in terms of the movies themselves and the completion and execution of them.. they are in essence perfect, for what a film is attempting to accomplish

Good will hunting is another great example of a perfect film

When I think of a 'perfect movie' I ask myself, is there anything that I watched that I would change, and if the answer is no, then I would consider it 'perfect'

Now just because I think it's perfect doesn't mean I necessarily love it.

Let's take Good Will Hunting, for example, because that was mentioned on the last page.

I would consider Good Will Hunting a 'perfect movie' in the sense that there's nothing about the movie that I would change. But do I love it? Na. Do I like it and would I watch it again if I happen to run into it? Yea, yea I would.

Now lets take a recent movie that I love: Captain America Civil war. Love that movie but there are things in that movie that I would change if I could, so by my definition of perfect, it is far from it.

So I'm with Ska on his quote 'For me, there's a difference between a movie I love and a movie I consider perfect.'

I do not get notifications when ppl @ me.

I did not see anything by you in the DCEU thread but I'll go back and check. EDIT - That post got drowned out by Wheaton directs Batgirl and Batgirl casting posts. Tonight was literally when I found out about that SW news.

I gave it some thought and entered the SW thread and by now you know I love already responded

Ever since she reached old age I've wanted to smash and smash more and more.

She's doing it on Feud: Bette & Joan
