Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

i havent seen that movie in years.. just remember deniro doing work.. and everything super duper awkward with juliette lewis

I had never seen Cape Fear until this weekend, and even more so, I had no idea it was Scorsese.

DeNiro was great, and creepy as ****, but by the end they had dude like Michael Meyers or some ****, he just kept comin back. :lol

I liked it, and it probably was better in 91 but for now I'd say easy 6-6.5/8.

Weird seein when Nolte actually was somebody that mattered in Hollywood.
Watch the original.

Yeah the scene in the auditorium between De Niro and Juliette Lewis was pedo AF.
Did y'all read about how Juliette Lewis had a huge crush on De Niro?

And this too --
Scorsese put one camera on De Niro and one on Lewis for the long scene, which was filmed three times. The first take was the one used in the final cut. Lewis did not know De Niro was going to stick his thumb into her mouth before kissing her. She only received a nonchalant warning from her director that De Niro was "going to do something."

whats the must watch list from Cannes this year?

- You Were Never Really Here
- The Killing of a Sacred Deer
- The Florida Project
- The Square
- Wind River
- Okja
- The Beguiled

There's a slew of others that were screened at Cannes, but these are the films I'm personally looking forward to.

Sidenote:
I'm still salty I couldn't make it to Cannes this year. Hoping to go next year.

Alien: Covenant 6/8

I enjoyed it, but I'm kind of a fan of Alien/sci-fi stuff so my rating is prob a bit biased.

It moved the story for the aliens but didn't do much in terms of the actual characters which was a bit disappointing.

Other than that, the movie was pretty much everything I had wanted in terms of a Prometheus sequal.

You guys think Valerian will be good? I'm really hoping it'll be a fun movie like how Fifth Element was. I think it's the same director so maybe he can repeat some of that magic.

I'm kinda getting tired if the actor cast in that movie so I don't have a positive outlook for the movie with him as lead/co-lead.

Tired of seeing his face.

Maybe ol bushy eyebrows can save it/make it entertaining.

I'll repost my Wonder Woman review from the DECU thread:

I just got back from seeing Wonder Woman.

Gal Gadot looked lovely, like wife material lovely.

Chris Pine was so great in his role as Steve Trevor.

The sidekicks made for some good comic relief, as did Pine.

There may have been a little too much slo-mo and a little too much backstory, but those weren't major complaints for me.

Easily the best film in the DC Extended Universe, which isn't really saying a lot.

But we finally got a Wonder Woman film on the big screen after some 20 years of being in development hell and didn't disappoint.
