Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

The only network dramas I liked were 24, Stumptown (not a drama really but kind of), the short-lived Drive and Flash Forward, then Numb3rs, and that dude Spencer’s character on Criminal Minds.

I saw only a few episodes of Numb3rs though, first three seasons are on Pluto, anyone seen that show and is it worth watching those seasons?

Network drama? LOST, and I just pretend season 6 never happened.

"We have to go back!!"

Watching 21 Bridges right now. I have a strong feeling this blonde cop with Chadwick Boseman don't make it. :(

Now I think she dirty, but not the kind of dirty I go for.

Either her or State Farm guy. Thinking her.

Seriously, if I'm a director and I was going to make a viking movie I just wouldn't after watching that. You're not going to top that.

Eggers just puts so much research and work into his films and his love for his work really shows. I can't imagine he will ever make a bad movie. The execution of the mythology+rituals+action scenes+drama was just perfect.

Some of those scenes were just so damn powerful.

RIP.... Was there a strong Mad Men following in here? Slow burn, but I enjoyed the show.

I'm rewatching it now. An incredible show but not as exciting episode to episode as the others of it's time. We had a decent thread following

Good to hear the rave reviews on The Northman so far, definitely gonna catch it next week along with Massive Talent.

Ethan Hawke's photo on RT makes him look just like Josh Brolin, they should play brothers in a movie lol.

Started this last night. Pretty good so far. I like Rebecca Hall. Only seen her in a handful of things but she'd been good in all of them.

Sometimes I get so lost in good stories that I can forget how masterful cinematography can be. The most mundane simple shots can be made to look like works of art and bring out so many more emotions, further enhancing the viewing experience.

Which brings me to another point: Step outside of your wheelhouse sometimes and appreciate a genre you’re not usually into. The cinematography might blow your mind in ways you didn’t expect. I’m talking to all you LOTR and Star Wars dodgers

🔥🔥🔥

Film truly is one of the goat topics to discuss. I also have a lot of respect to those who create it. Not easy.

I’ve always liked this quote from Spike Lee:

“Making films has got to be one of the hardest endeavors to humankind. Straight up and down, film work is hard ****.”

Y’all got me hype for Northman.
When I watched the witch that ish had me shook

There are some tonal similarities with the vvitch otherwise it’s pretty different.
Definitely some “out there” moments but you kind of have to expect that with an Eggers film.

I learned that Willem Dafoe lives in a ranch in Rome and has a black ram named Black Phillip :nthat:

Recent viewing. Wasn’t my cup of tea. Film lacked flow and interesting characters. Jack Nicholson’s character was just not likeable. Not his fault though. Hard to root for him when his behavior kept giving you reasons not to. 2.5/8
