I named Outbreak because of the 3 other Oscar types in the movie with him. 4 if you count Donald Sutherland. I didn't say it was his best film man.

wow at driving miss daisy beating born on the fourth of july for best picture. They must have been mad it was so anti-american

Best actor is another story. daniel day lewis won for my left foot and I've never seen it.

I wasn't implying that you had it as one of his best films, just having it on your list was funny to me.

Take away Cruise & Affleck's off the court non-sense, your left with two great actors, who's resumes speak for themself.

I think Glory should have won best picture in 1989.

And then all of his action roles are essentially identical. He's almost always trying to save the world in one form or another. Even the serious roles mentioned above, he's still trying to save humanity, so to speak. Which is whatever, I guess; that doesn't have to be a terrible thing. But... he just sucks. He doesn't sell roles to me. I think people get caught up in his celebrity and appeal overall and just credit his acting because of it. And acting abilities aside, he hasn't been in a single great movie. Few even good ones, really - mostly average or worse.

This description sounds like Denzel to me too... Its like they have similar roles, but they're great at the roles they play.

With Seven Pounds & Pursuit of Happiness, he had different roles from his typical action ones, & I felt that he embraced those roles & did a great job with them. Could other actors have done a good job with those roles? Probably... But in terms of Will taking those roles away from his usual ones & doing a great job with them, he made me respect him more as an actor.

He's not my favorite actor or anything either... But I never looked at him as being bad.

When I heard the news that he was going to be Joker and people were blasting the choice, I was on the phone saying what a brilliant move it was.   I knew from jump he would be great, and he BY FAR exceeded my expectation for that role.  He was incredible.  I know people say it's because we were all sad, and knew what had happened to him in real life and all that, NO, he was flawless in that role.  There was no Heath in that picture.  He was Joker.  May sound corny, I don't really care, that kid was somebody else for two and a half hours of film.  Nobody will change my mind otherwise.

RIP

Its like I watch Dark Knight & every scene the Joker isn't in, Im just waiting for him to appear again.

What he did with that role was just insane... It was the perfect description of Joker. This is coming from a big fan of Jack playing Joker too... But what Heath did was just unmatched.

I used to hate Ben, too, but he's really stepped it up the past couple of years from his usual crap:

State of Play
The Town
Extract (then again, I love Mila so yeah)

Plus Gone Baby Gone was awesome.
Casey's the best Affleck, though. Dude needs to work more.

he was the worst part of extract and the town. He always sticks out and bothers me. I need to see good will hunting though. The only movies I ever liked him in were Dogma and chasing Amy

Affleck needs to stay behind the camera... He's 2-for-2 on that end.
