%+*$ it sounds like you liked it more than I did though. A lot more. I gave my review of the movie in the thread in General, but long story short, I gave it a C.

Fab 5........

*If you haven't watched it yet, don't read this..................*

GREAT 2 hours.  This is what ESPN is good for.  I wish they would do this good all the time instead of sucking off money makers.

I wish they would have had footage of that first practice when Jalen did the whole "Freshmen against ya'll"

C-Webb.........watching the timeout again, I can't help but wonder if that is why he became the hot potato guy in 4th quarters.  That guy wanted no part of the ball late in big games in his NBA career, this HAD to be the reason.  I felt sooooooo bad when the one dude was talkin about his chest was beating so hard, and all his weight was leaning on him.
ohwell.gif
It was a totally unlucky event, but it's too bad Chris couldn't just shake it off.  (I know, easy thing to say)
Him not being on the show sucked though.  And I think he took the brunt of the negative looks in this film.  First, after their freshman year him walkin thru the tunnel screamin and cussin, then the timeout, then the Ed Martin stuff where he tries to blame Martin and act innocent.
30t6p3b.gif
Chris came off lookin real bad in this imo.  Having said that, I might give the guy a pass when I watched that almost minute long walk off the court thru the tunnel into the lockeroom with the heart beat sound playin..........BRUTAL.

I thought Jalen was great, he was very honest, even being mad at Chris for speaking against Davis like that.  And I
roll.gif
at him calling Grant Hill an Uncle Tom.  Jalen even admitting that Laettner had game after they played them was solid imo.

Juwan was dead right.  He plays in the NBA 17 years, and now plays with Bron and Wade and co, and STILL I think of him as Fab 5.  That's how powerful that squad was.

I refuse to believe that battle LA is better than independence day.

Adaptation was a great movie.

CP...you're 100% right. The documentary didn't paint a flattering picture of Chris Webber. I wonder how the flim would have taken shape had he been involved in the project? I felt SO bad for him on that long walk through the Superdome tunnel. It was a moment that I just wanted to end...but it kept going and going.

It's not his usual role. He plays two distinctly different characters. Plus Meryl Streep is in it so you know it's good.

Alright, talking movies, can anyone else relate?

I realized a long time ago that I have a weird taste in movies, I guess.
laugh.gif
There have been so many 'must see' movies that didn't/don't even seem appealing to me, so I still haven't seen them. Examples? 300, Pulp Fiction, Matrix (any of them), Rambo (any of them), Rocky (only seen the first one)... just so many movies that cause people to say "WHAT?! YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THAT?! STOP NOW AND GO WATCH IT!!" And once I do eventually give in and watch a movie that fits this description, after watching it, I'm like 'Enh. Was alright.' Examples: Scarface and Avatar. I had never seen Scarface till 2009, and it was... enh.
ohwell.gif
Avatar? Saw it a couple weeks ago. Enh.

My favorites include Good Will Hunting, Antwone Fisher (2 favorite movies of all time), A Beautiful Mind, Powder, 3:10 to Yuma, Higher Learning, What Dreams May Come, The Butterfly Effect, The Game, The Rainmaker, As Good As It Gets, Patch Adams, Sling Blade, Gladiator, John Q, The Green Mile... if there's a 'one size fits all' category to throw those flicks into.
laugh.gif

Now, you guys are talking Nic Cage. Not a fan, personally. At all. Only movie he's done that I really like is The Family Man, which I'm sure most of you hate, and I'm sure the mere mention just got a few laughs.
laugh.gif
Enh, I like it.

I've got Adaptation queued up on the DVR for later today thanks to KLJ's comment about it being his best movie, but I was wondering about 'Knowing'. Worth the time? Slow? Great? Forced acting? Good script? What say you?

How in the world have you never seen pulp fiction? Yikes. Tribes living in the rainforests have even seen that movie.

Ska, I feel like I've failed you or something.  I'm gonna have to sit and meditate later and think about why this has happened to you.

laugh.gif

Why don't you go ahead and set aside some time, do Pulp, 300, and Matrix in that order.  If you like Matrix, then watch the 2nd (my fav) but don't watch the third unless you feel like wasting 2 hours.  If curiosity gets the better of you and you feel you "must" see the conclusion, great, rent it, and skip ahead to the final showdown, you can see all that's worth watching in that film in less then 20 minutes.  So Matrix 1, if like then proceed to Matrix 2, if still like, then proceed to final 20 minutes of Matrix 3 only.

300 and Pulp are musts.  If you're still reading this, then you haven't left to the local video store yet which would mean I am

 right now.

Matchstick Men was also a good Cage, and while Face Off is one of my favs, and Con Air is a def 100X watchability type, Leaving Las Vegas was incredible.  But damn that dude drank too damn much.

Sucker Punch.

Love the way it looks.  Probably crazy as all hell, but the visuals.

Fast/Furious 5, ya'll can kiss it, I can't wait for this movie.  This is what Theatre movies should be, cars/action/girls/locale/sound/scenery, makes me forget about bills and @#$% for 2 hours.  I liked the first 4, I'm sure 5 will be just the same, except adding the Rock is a nice touch.

Bad Teacher actually looked funny, but Cameron Diaz bores me these days.  Her doing a movie with her ex may help though.  At least the Sarah Marshall dude is in this one, he's usually funny.

Pirates 4, *shrugs*  Fast and Furious on boats..........which means I'll watch cuz I'm stupid.

Pulp Fiction is the #1 MUST SEE movie of all-time for me. Until you've seen that movie, please refrain from discussion in this thread. You know not of what you speak.

Does. Not. Compute.

On Battle: LA... Man I was so excited about that damn movie... Then the reviews were such an epic disaster... I've heard it was good, I've heard it was terrible. Spring Break = I may see it in the morning by myself.

I'm so skeptical now though.

New Super 8 trailer...
