I never said she was thee actress of all actress's, but she ain't what most of you try to put her out as. She's done action, light comedy, romantic comedy, dry humor (Invention of Lying was great) drama/action (The Kingdom) and she pulls them all off just fine. Oscar? No, of course not, but she has a range that can play just about any role needed.
She ain't Natalie, but she does alright for herself. She better than Halle Berry ever was, that's for damn sure, and Halle got herself an Oscar. (Deservedly so) But check alot of Halle's work, my goodness, it's almost uncomfortable.

Hey now...Halle ain't about this. She was og black Megan Fox but then she learned how to act.
Now Alias was the realest and most natural standout performance Jennifer Garner gave. After that she's been interchangeable in almost everything. You never remember that she was even in the movie. I don't mind her, but she lost almost all ability to make me remember her.
I shouldn't look at her imdb and say 'oh yeah, ehhh' at everything.

Monster's Ball was her one bright moment, everything else?
She didn't do a damn thing in X-Men, Catwoman, The Program, Bond, Swordfish, Executive Decision, The Last Boy Scout, Boomerang (I'll give you an average on this) BAPS, Bulworth, .......I mean? Losing Isiah was decent, and I think she did ok, and she was overshadowed greatly by Lange. She never had a shot there, but I give her credit for trying. The rest of that mess, maaaaaan.
Garner may not "stand out" true, but she don't ruin nothin either. I seen Halle act in movies and I'm like ugh, that was brutal. She just killed that scene. Jenn doesn't do that. Ever.

she was in a movie about a woman with multiple personalities and the other one was a racist. Sounded interesting but the reviews weren't good enough for me to go to the city and pay 20 bucks

To be honest, I can't think of hardly any movies with a woman as the lead-role that I've actually really enjoyed. Movie sexism? Probably
... Black Swan and Easy A are the only ones that stick out (both in 2010, strange enough).
I'm not talking about movies where they're are like three people, all sharing equal screen time, such as Doubt (Streep, Seymour-Hoffman, Adams). I'm speaking strictly of the films where there's a clear-cut lead role, and it's a woman.

I already said CP, Halle don't count, cuz no one casts her to hold the movie down, just to distract people from how corny it might be. She was good in Things We Lost In The Fire though.
And the first think I said was Alias is the only thing I really liked her in, everything else...she's just anybody. She ain't annoying like Kate Hudson or Katherine Heigl...just ok.

black swan sticks out for sure. Natalie portman in the professional as well
mia farrow in rosemary's baby is great. But she is frail and lacks a backbone for the most part.
oh wow i know a movie with an EXCELLENT woman performance. the entire movie is pretty much two people.
AntiChrist
Highly recommended. But it's a demented movie. Don't research the movie. Don't read any reviews. It will take away from what happens in the first few scenes. Take my word. One of the best movies I've seen in years.
It's probably a very sexist movie. I think it is. And plenty of people do, But jeez man. One messed up and intriguing movie. She is amazing.
