Ever seen My Life Without Me? One of the best indie movies ever.

Yeah that was specifically what I was referring too.  She directed that too I believe.  I remember her saying that movie really meant something to her, she just had to make it.

I just haven't ever gotten around to it which is weird, I know. I had it DVR'd a long while back but then we upgraded our cable at my house so the box had to be changed and for some godforsaken reason this movie hasn't been on tv since. Amazon's got a blu-ray double pack coming out in a couple of days with this and Braveheart (which I also haven't seen, smh), for 19 bucks that I just preordered for you, along with the extended Sucker Punch blu. I'll try and get to all 3 of those before the end of August, I promise
laugh.gif

like some of the other movies are excusable maybe as they might be before someone's time...but gladiator? damn. who didn't go watch that in high school or middle school
laugh.gif

I really wasn't kidding when I said I was cinematically deprived as a youth.

And Annette Benning's awesome, as well as Mary-Louise Parker when she's in a supporting role. I loved her in Romance & Cigarettes where she basically plays a 16 year old girl with a rock band in her current age. That movie in general was a fun, very good film--stereotypical indie, though.

To make up for this atrocity, I'ma need a real good write up on Gladiator when it happens.  So take notes.

I liked that thread, Gladiator vs Troy, and it was nailed perfectly, Gladiator is the better movie, but for some reason, Troy has the re-watchability factor somehow.  And I don't really understand why.  Troy is longer.  I would get it if the one you can re-watch is much shorter, but this is the opposite.  So strange, but a lot of different people in there agreed.
Ill, I saw you mention doing write ups on Hector and Achilles, drop those in here when that happens.  My wife and I LOVED Hector's character.  We still get pissed at how he goes down over that sissy brother of his.
grin.gif
I couldn't believe it when Versaes (sp) who looks like crap in that movie, turns out to be the SMOKING HOT chick in her underwear in X-Men First Class.

The Big C (Linney's show) is kind of like the dramedy series version of My Life Without Me.

Considerably less serious, for the most part, but her character deals with a lot of those same issues that I'm sure anyone with terminal cancer would have.

Speaking of Dakota Fanning, her sister, Elle, has some potential too.

She was great in Somewhere. Haven't seen her in anything else but she obviously has the acting genes.

For about 45 seconds before Craig, being the white-knight he is, throws a towel around her. All you see is her back

There better be an unrated version floating around somewhere. Favreau seems like the kind of guy to make an unrated version.

Doubtful she's naked anyway... in an interview on Kimmel, she said how in her new movie the Change-Up, there was a quick scene where Reynolds moved and she was naked but wearing pasties, so the CGI guys added in a fake nipple. She said she even got to pick it out herself... so yeah

She was naked in Alpha Dog, though.

And Elle Fanning was good in Super 8

I don't even know how to review a movie like that. I was entertained the entire time, so that has to be worth something. Awesome choreography, and loved the way it was shot - some old school Hong Kong stunt action, as well. 8/10. Bravo, CP.

@ 45 seconds.  He was probably supposed to cover her up immediately, he just decided to "improvise" the shot and take his time.

And Favreau certainly has extra footage, but he won't show it to us, he keepin that to hisself.  Man, I was lookin at some pics I have of her on my computer here at work, my goodness she is unreal.  Eyes are hypnotic.

Man, I liked that movie all around. Might be because I'm a big Emile Hirsch guy, though.
You gotta stop letting your biases get in the way of a movie's worth. Alpha Dog was whack. And Curious Case was a boring Forrest Gump.

I kid. CCoBB was pretty solid. Just a little overhyped, as Forrest Gump is the superior script from that writer.

honestly alphadog wasn't bad at all. Maybe just because I went in with such low expectations. Most movies these days would have went with the happy ending.

if you been naked before why bother wearing pasties? what's the point?
